Guys my mother is possibly the worst person in my life

@valentino Oh yeah, she is nuts, at least every one understands why I had to block her haha. Everyone brings it up when I see them in person. It’s kind of validating to have a ton of people say “wow what is wrong with your MIL?!”

@abelthecomp I’m dealing with something similar right now. Mine asked me if I was mad and said she can’t apologize if she doesn’t know what she did. I tell her exactly what upset me. It’s been 24 hours since I said what was upsetting me and not a word from her. I know she got the message bc it was says she read it almost immediately.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that on top of trying to take care of your sick baby.

@abelthecomp The only thing worse than having boomers for parents is having boomers for grandparents.

I swear I about lost it when my parents asked how my sick child was for the millionth time. I like you had not showered, slept, or eaten for days. Single mama with no help and I was dying. My son on the other hand (who was unfortunately sick) has me to take care of him. He was doing amazingly and got better quickly because I was there to take care of him. Took him to 3 doctors appointments because I was so nervous and wanted to make sure he got the upmost care/answers as to why he was sick. (happened on a Friday so went to urgent care, then the hospital, then pediatricians on Monday when the opened.)

Sick child will do great as long as they have their parents to look after them, but who's looking after us?

@abelthecomp Sounds like she is totally enveloped in herself and her life. How unfortunate really. I am 42 and can not wait til or if my kids have babies so I can help them and assist in anyway I can. It would be an honor to come relieve my daughter so she could sleep or shower, if she was tired and dealing with a sick baby.

Keep your head up mama!

@abelthecomp I deleted Facebook and Instagram for this exact same situation with my mom. She’s now a permanently archived chat in my WhatsApp so that I don’t get her panicked “what about MEEEE” texts.

Gotta love it when mom wants you to never forget her not even for one second even if you have a kid now just remember that she is number one!! /s

@abelthecomp First, I’m SO sorry about your baby. Having a sick newborn is in no way easy on you.

Second, your mom needs to log out of Facebook indefinitely if THAT is her primary focus. Facebook destroyed what was left of my relationship with my mom because she was counting likes and posting my family’s personal information. Give her the reality check she desperately needs (when you have the mental capacity to do so)

@abelthecomp Why can’t your mum do the normal old person thing and screenshot their posts and then send it to the family group chat which exactly zero people will download afterwards? That’s what mine does.

@abelthecomp I’m going to give your mom the attention that she deserves- none. AnYwAys…

Sending love & well wishes for you & your little baby. Get well soon & you stay strong. 💕

@abelthecomp I’m sorry! Your mom is self absorbed. I hope your sweet baby is feeling better soon and you can get some rest and not have to worry so much!

@abelthecomp Oof. Your mom sounds like my mom, who has diagnosed bipolar disorder and tends to behave like she’s the main character in literally everyone’s life. I hope your babe feels better quick, that sounds absolutely miserable.

@abelthecomp My MIL did the same shit but she was also SUPER pissed because “like 4.6k people liked my post but you couldn’t?” I shit you not! The woman thinks if she shares a post all the likes from that post are for her!!! 🙃😒😑 there is not explaining this….. so now I set it up in settings to where it blocks only her from seeing anything I post!!! I suggest you do that!

@abelthecomp Sounds alot like my mom, i once didnt txt her back for 3 hours and she showed up at my house acting dramatic and saying she was worried i was dead. Im (30F) married with two kids and live like 10 mins away. Shes got some serious mental issues.

@abelthecomp Sounds like my mother in law. She accused me of “trying to isolate her” from our kids lives because I wasn’t posting on Facebook as much. She lives 10 miles from our house. She can visit them literally anytime she wants.

@abelthecomp Wow I dealt with the same thing with my mother. They seem to forget what it’s like to have small children. My mom sent me some incredibly mean texts the first 2 years after I had my first. I had to block her number bc I couldn’t take it. I don’t understand how they are so oblivious. I guess it’s maybe because they didn’t have social media and texting when we were babies so no one was expecting instantaneous replies and likes from them.

@higherawarenessjr I don’t think it’s that they forget… it’s like Main Character Syndrome. I deal with the same and it feels like there’s just no ability to view any situation without seeing herself as the centre of it all. I’m sorry you also have to deal with it - it’s not easy.
