2 & a half years w no baby

@kittykat239 I know quitting nicotine is hard, but it definitely impacts fertility! If you're serious about having a baby, quitting vaping and getting a semen analysis are absolutely your top 2 priorities.

@kittykat239 regardless, i would go ahead and get the semen test, it can potentially rule it out as an issue. its just a process of elimination. vapeing can affect it some but it shouldnt make or break it

@angeloflight316 I think the semen test might help, I would also suggest chucking the vape so that when you do fall pregnant (praying you do!) you’re not too stressed coming off it. You also mentioned earlier you tried the cycle tracking, could you confirm ovulation? It might take you a little longer to get pregnant and that’s okay, rooting for you!

@kittykat239 Do you have endometriosis? That can impact your TTC journey. Also, I would personally have an HSG done to check and see if your tubes are clear because if they’re blocked, semen can’t get through.

Sometimes though, your body just needs a little help. My husband and I struggled with infertility for over 4 years and eventually had to have an IUI. You could always look into trying that route or even medicated cycles.

@kittykat239 Just letting you know your cycle can be regular and you can still have endo. I have regular ovulation, regular cycles, hormones all good on blood tests. Just found out I have endo badly and you can only find out through lap surgery. I’d get the semen analysis first but don’t totally rule out yourself having issues either.

@kittykat239 I would get the semen analysis so you know what you are working with, so to say. If you are also able to get a blood panel to test your AMH and other labs, sometimes these are covered as diagnostic and not "fertility treatment." If you have a regular OB/GYN you can usually get a lot of those tests done as part of your annual exam- I would start by having a discussion with your provider about what other information you can get that might help you.

@larmarine my Obgyn usually ignore my concerns and says “ just take a prenatal “ I feel like my concerns isn’t valid because of my age which isn’t fair at all , I’m considering finding a new one .

@kittykat239 If you don’t mind me asking, have you gone to a reproductive specialist?? I had secondary infertility with my second, it took us over a year to get pregnant with him. They did a HSG, which is when they put dye in your tubes to see if their open and not blocked, they also did a ultrasound to check if I was even releasing eggs and they had me on fertility Medication, I did five rounds of clomid and one round of letrazole. I also had laparoscopic surgery to investigate endometriosis as I started having symptoms of it after having my first via emergency c section, my doctor didn’t find endo but did find adhesions from my c section, once she released them, I got pregnant, it was also my first cycle trying letrazole. I would also get your fiancé checked as male factor infertility is a thing.

EDIT: I am really sorry, I missed the bit where you specified that seeing a specialist was going to be expensive. I’m based in Canada and had all the testing done without charge. It all comes down to ovulation and figuring out your cycle. Also baby dancing too much actually can make you less likely to get pregnant. For me and my hubby this time around, what seemed to work was just baby dancing on the days Flo said I should baby dance. We did it all those days only that cycle, am currently pregnant with my Third at seven months post partum

@photographicmemories That really sucks. Honestly, I don’t know how I would make it in America. You guys also pay ridiculous taxes, America can afford universal healthcare, politically speaking, the money they use to fund w@r should be used for the people. I was sent a referral by my RE, and then had it done not even a few days later. I really sympathize with you all, health care is a right but they have made it almost impossible to afford insurance.
