Had a c-section with my first and wasn’t able to baby wear with my structured carrier due to pressure pushing down on my belly. This time I bought a ring sling to try in case I need to have another c-section.
@snoweh My Happy Baby didn’t bother me at all post csection, I just wore it higher than my scar (which is naturally comfortable anyways with a little baby, and I have a short torso)
@cptbobproffesoromemeology Also came here to suggest a happy baby! I didn’t have a C-section but the waist band is nowhere close to where the incision would be
@snoweh I think this depends at least a little on how tall you are. I’m 5’6” and all torso haha, I have to buy petite pants because my legs are so short. Anyway I didn’t have any trouble wearing my baby in a K’tan (which fits very similar to a wrap like a Moby) after my c section. He was up on my chest and not near my uterus area at all. I would think any type of carrier with no waistband would work the same! But again, might depend on your body
@farmhouse1 Ok yeah I think it was the waistband that was the issue. Even above my still extended belly it pushed down on it. I’m 5’7 but probably more in the legs.
@snoweh I tried a stretchy wrap and a ring sling after my C-section and no C-section related problems with either. I found the wrap way easier to use though that may have been because I only had two really non-standard hand-me-down ring slings. I think a woven wrap would be even better than a stretchy wrap (more options in case you want to wear it a different way). SSCs I'd think would depend on the particular model and how it fits you.
@khushvinder I can’t picture a carrier without a waistband… can you give me the brand or something of one so I can see what it looks like? This might be the solution I’m looking for!
@zalm So I’ve been looking into these and they look great, but it seems they’re for older babies (about 5 months) that can sit unassisted. I should be ok by that time to baby wear normally, this was more for right off the bat while my scar is still healing (if I have one). But I’ll definitely be getting one of these for when he’s a toddler!
@snoweh I think I started baby wearing 2.5 weeks after my c-section and first started with the Moby. I personally found my structured carrier, 6-in-1 Lillebaby carrier, to be more comfortable and easier for me to manage.
@snoweh I think it’s very individual! I was using a stretchy wrap five days post-c and it didn’t bother me at all because it all sat well above my incision. Some people find a ring sling comfier, I wasn’t confident using mine yet at that stage so I stuck to the stretchy wrap.
