Shyloh has been diagnosed with NEC

@barneyo I had twins born 25+6 and both had NEC surgery within a week of birth. Remember that our little ones are super resilient. Just be strong for them as well!

@davidstephen How bad was the surgery? Shyloh made it through, but only has 3 inches of bowel left…And it has the start of the disease…but she’s had transfusions and on tons of meds and antibiotics I’m trying my best to stay hopeful. She was born at 28+2…She will be a week old tomorrow!

@barneyo That's amazing! That the surgery made it through ok. Our little ones are so strong, trust that! I believe They resected about half of her bowel for my baby girl but they told me as she got older, it will get longer again. She had an ostomy for a few months before it was reversed. She was in the NICU for 200+ days with many frightening events but now she's 2 and feisty as ever. She will get there!! Happy 1 week old Shyloh!
