What kind of car do you drive?

@olaitan Captain seats only if the oldest kid can get in and buckle themselves! I drive a Tahoe and I love it. I have also had a Honda Odyssey and it was so convenient and comfortable! You'll need a full size SUV or minivan with 3 littles!

@olaitan We basically have a suburban (Yukon xl). We had a regular Yukon, but there wasn’t enough trunk space with the third row is up. The captain seAts are great and make it easier for the older kids to get in the back.

My neighbor bought a jeep wagoneer, and if I had the $$ to buy a brand new car, I would have gotten that. It has a 3rd row, and just enough trunk space when the 3rd row is up, but it’s not as huge as the suburban /Yukon XL.

@olaitan The new toyota seqouia looks like a boss. I’m assuming you probably drive a GX? We’re waiting out the 2-3 year period before taking the plunge for the new seqouia.

@olaitan I have Range Rover Sport. It’s not a small car but I wish I had a third row. I was inside an Escalade recently and really liked how roomy it was so I’m looking at getting that as next car maybe. I wish I could convince myself to get a minivan but I’m just a little too materialistic at this point and husband is so against it lol The sliding doors and roomy interior are so appealing though

@olaitan Mini van! I love my Toyota Sienna. I have 35 minute commute so I really needed the hybrid. I would have considered the Honda but they didn’t offer their hybrid in the US. We looked at the Pacifica but didn’t have a great experience with Chrysler and they didn’t have the correct model for us to look at even though we made an appointment. :( so we went with Toyota. Not sure if this is a selling point for the Toyota, but my husband said he wouldn’t drive the van but I could get it. Fast forward to today and he’s always driving my van. Also of note, after we got the new van 50ish men would approach me/us to tell me that they loved their mini van(s) and missed having a van now that their kids were older. Some of them got misty eyed. Very sweet but yet strange.

@olaitan We have a minivan. Toyota sienna. 2 kiddos. Love it. Good gas mileage, comfortable and definitely worth the $200 a year for Wi-Fi (we use it on longer car car rides). Best part is, they can’t open the car doors into someone else’s car. I also have back issues so the car seat height is good and getting in and out on a bad day is easier too.

@olaitan Obsessed with our Chevy Traverse. If you're looking for plenty of cargo space, but a Suburban is too big/out of price range, the Traverse has the most cargo space in its class. Most trim levels come with captains chairs.

@olaitan We have a Ford expedition max. Second row captains seats and seats 7 total. We had an 8 seater when I had 3 kids at home. I prefer the 7 because it’s easier to get in the back. I love that it’s so comfortable…it’s like driving in a recliner. It’s great for road trips - it’s been across country many times and there’s enough space for people and for luggage.

@olaitan We bought a 2022 Honda crv in Nov 2021, a custom order with all the safety bells and whistles. This is my husband's car and I got the paid off 2009 crv as my car. The rule was whoever had the baby got the new car, which is him because I wfh, and he didn't at the time. Now he wfh too, and both our cars just sit in the garage, and we exclusively use his car for errands and going out. I have never driven it because I am afraid of wrecking it. I am a very nervous driver.

@olaitan 2011 Honda Odyssey has been great. We’ve had it since 2019. It has seats that fold down and slide so you can get in the way back. We have care seat in the middle and that makes it kind of hard to get in the way back. It also seems to be holding up a lot better than my husband’s 2011 Toyota Prius that we’ve had since 2012. I wouldn’t recommend the Prius as your only car since my husband had to switch to front facing in that car earlier than I wanted on to because space. ETA we had an 09 Honda Pilot and I used to have an 09 Ford Escape and the van has so much more cargo space which makes everything so much easier.
