What’s the dumbest thing anyone ever said to you as a twin parent?

2 different situations.
  1. Setting: Home Depot
  2. Elderly gentleman: “which one is older?”
  3. Me: “she is by 5 minutes”
  4. Elderly gentleman: “you can tell, she’s bigger”
Yes, those 5 minutes 🤦🏼‍♂️
  1. Setting: Daughter’s neurology office
  2. Neurologist: “you’re a twin? Which one of you is the prettier one?” (Trying to test cognitive function)
  3. Me: “she just turned 3, I don’t think she understands what you’re asking.”
Who asks that?! 🤦🏼‍♂️

@nathann Random lady: "are they natural?"

Me: "no, that one is a cyborg"

Random lady: "no, I mean how did you conceive them?"

Me: "um, I think it was doggy style, but possibly missionary"

Random lady: shocked pikachu face.

@nathann I’ve never been asked “are they natural?” But during our 2.5 week hospital stay before they were born EVERY single nurse asked if they were IVF, and they were often surprised when we said that they weren’t.

@katlynmarie I didn't understand just how common it was until I joined a local Moms of Multiples group for a short while. So many of the members had become pregnant with their twins (or other types of multiples) through IVF. Meanwhile, I was there as a pregnant/new first-time, single mom in my very early 20s, and had not even intended on becoming pregnant. Let's just say, I didn't often feel like I fit in.
