I went into labour at 37 weeks exactly (water broke at 2 a.m. on the day). Went to the hospital at 7 a.m. and had the baby at 1 p.m.
If I had to drive five hours to my doctor, or have a doctor I didn't feel comfortable with delivering my baby, I would be sooo stressed the entire time. Just my opinion.
@kurari As others have said, C. Take your Buddy and his new bride out for a nice dinner with you and the wife sometime after the kid is here. If he’s a true friend he will understand your absence.
@kurari Had my baby at 35+6 with no symptoms of labor before my water broke. I did have a risk factor for premature birth, but things had been going well and this was not at all anticipated. So really depends on how risk averse you and your wife are.
