heart palpitations 2 months pp

hey all. im 2 months pp from c section , and about a week ago exactly I experienced heart palpitations. I went to ER, and they did all kinds of testing on me, and it all came back fine. I’ve also been fatigued, and in between my shoulders hurt. dizziness also comes and goes. I went to prompt care today, and they referred me to cardiology.. im really just uneasy ab everything. my iron level was fine today, and I don’t know why this is happening to me. if anybody else experienced this will it go away soon?? I also want to know if magnesium will help.

@katbrat Did they check your thyroid hormone (TSH)?

@draxzar he asked me if I had problems with it, and. I said no. I don’t think they tested it, if they did, there was no concern that he brought to me

@katbrat I would recommend asking your primary care doctor to check TSH. Post partum thyroiditis can cause palpitations, even if you’ve never had a history of thyroid problems. Happened to me and now I’m stable on thyroid medicine. Keep us posted

@katbrat This is so interesting - I had the exact same thing happen but I’m only 3 weeks post C-section. They determined I have a PVC that was most likely induced by pregnancy. I see a specialist for care plan next week, but most likely will resolve itself according to doctor.

@katbrat I gave birth vaginally and had this happen to me about 3 months out. All testing - ekg, bloodwork - came out 100% normal. My doctor attributed to stress of going back to work .

@nhanc33 huh. that’s odd.. they referred me to cardio so hopefully it will resolve itself.

@myleen It went to 30 and then to 131 at hospital. Then it stayed at 92-98

@katbrat Ok, because mine is doing the same as well. My dr told me to stay on blood pressure medication to prevent stroke or heart attack while we figure out what’s going on

@katbrat It was high 5 days postpartum. But it’s stabilized now but my heart rate is still high so my dr is keeping me on

@myleen mine was never high or anything. idk what’s going on tbh. They just keep telling me they don’t know

@katbrat I’d say check for thyroid. I know it can cause high heart rate

@katbrat Check your irons levels and b12 anemia can cause all that too or better yet just supplement now

@specialb okay. I take postnatal, and magnesium.
