@jomarie I do try to nurse (as I said in my comment above) and, believe it or not, she sometimes doesn't want it and is still crying! She is my second and I absolutely remember fussy periods like this with my first as well. And I'm not "letting her cry". I'm rocking, singing, changing, offering a pacifier, changing her position, swaddling, etc.
Yea for sure, my baby spent maybe 1/5 of her day NOT on my boob for the first 6-8 weeks ish? They actually ARE that hungry and if you're breastfeeding it's only establishing your supply better, especially at 3 weeks!
@luv100 I don’t want to be that person but breastfeeding isn’t just about nutrition. It’s about bonding,’security and emotional well being as well as nutrition. So she might actually just need a feed, not that she’s hungry, but she’s overwhelmed, tired, feeling lonely, missing you etc...... she also might be trying to feed more to boost your milk supply for a growth spurt. When it comes to breast feeding watch your baby not the clock.
@joysky93 When I say I "try to see if she needs to eat again" I mean I physically put my nipple in her mouth. She sticks out her tongue, turns her head, and arches her back.
I'm sorry you're dealing with this frustration. It sounds incredibly overwhelming. You're doing an amazing job navigating the challenges of a newborn. Have you had a chance to talk to your husband about how you’re feeling? Sometimes sharing the load, even emotionally, can help. mamawithlove
