@hermit76 Infant seat has some conveniences but is not a necessity. The two biggest conveniences for me where other than not waking sleeping baby others have mentioned:
- Being able to put baby in car seat while indoors and putting blanket over them during winter. Putting on coat and taking it off in the car when baby is younger than 6 months (not sitting independently) is a bit hard.
- Loading infant from the front instead of from the side when they’re young and have no neck control. Just find that easier w a squirmy baby. So this may be solved if you go w one of those rotating convertible seats
