What type of diaper to get?

Up until recently, we’d been using Essembly Size 1 diapers. My son outgrew those and then spent some time in the hospital, during which time we started using disposables. Now that he’s home and healthy again, I’d like to go back to cloth. I’m tempted to go back to Essembly, but my son has become a wiggle worm, so I was hoping to perhaps add some pocket diapers for quicker changes.

A few things:
My son is very small and slender for his age. He weighs 18lbs and is 30in tall at 17 months old.

He is a pretty heavy wetter during the day

He has a g-tube, so I can’t have any diaper that goes up too high on the belly as it will rub on his g-tube port.

Because he’s tube fed formula and eats very few solids, his poops are VERY mushy. I will most likely use a thin disposable poop liner to make washing easier.

We just moved into a place with this washer/dryer combo: https://www.summitappliance.com/catalog/model/SPWD2202W. The drier is very slow, so I’d like something that won’t take forever to dry (if possible)

Any suggestions?

@wagingwar Mine is roughly the same size ish but has a few pounds on yours. If you use a rise snap (which I imagine you will because I’m still using one at 22 pounds, 34 inches) Nora’s nursery pockets should not rub on a G tube placement. Econaps are also a little pricey but they run smaller and lower on the belly than most other brands. Like another said you could stuff with flats or even half flats and those will dry very quickly even hang dried. We have esembly sized 2 and they were pretty big on her until very recently but never came up past the belly button, but certainly don’t dry fast at all so I can understand why you would want to stray away from fitteds.

@wagingwar Pocket diapers are the easiest to remove poop from in my opinion. Pockets stuffed with a flat (maybe a hemp blend?) would dry really fast

@wagingwar My baby is about the same size as yours and Nora’s nursery pocket diapers are great. They fit her tiny little body perfectly and come in really cute prints.

@wagingwar I’m more familiar with La Petite Ourse than other brands but I think they would work. My LPO are much less boxy than the Mama Koalas I’ve owned
