Sperm analysis results

@diannalynn67 I'm always confused by the numerical progression grading. I think generally 4 is the best and then 3+4 are progressive? So 2 would would be non progressive? So it's not really the relevant sperm. Or is this yet another system?

Motility Grade 1: Poor non-progressively moving sperm
Motility Grade 2: Fair progressively moving sperm
Motility Grade 3+: Good rapid progressively moving sperm

Super confusing, I know!

@s3anreilly I'm confused by this too and havent ever encountered it. Perhaps it's another variation of A to D, where A is rapid progressive and D is immotile? As you say we'd need clarification on whether 1 or 4 is the best number. When we grade embryos - at least in my clinic - 1 is considered top quality and 4 is considered nonviable so it could just as easily be the same way around

@krython The most common when able to deduce it art r/maleinfertility which is predominantly US send to use 4 as best. Like here: https://acimc.org/standards-semen-analysis/
I'd prefer of they would just stick to A-D WHO which is at least clear what is what

@joscar Hi is anyone able to help? I’m still waiting for a doctors appointment and it’s taking ages. I have this result from the other Concentration: 30million/ml Total motility: 61% Progressive motility : 57% Morphology: 2%

@joscar My doctor's office did the same thing. Sent us the results via email and no one ever followed up. When we dropped off the cup they said our doctor would call. Then, when I called the office looking for help on reading the results they said we had to make an appointment for a consult because the doctor doesn't call with results. Such a scam..
