We’re both scared to death, wife is T1D @ 33+5, had high blood pressures all day, called OB recommended we go to L&D.

Now we’re waiting to be transferred to a hospital with a NICU, got her in a Mag Drip, something to curb Anxiety.

Godspeed boys, I’ll see you Ina few days!

@coti Pediatrician here. Vast majority of 33-34 weekers do great. Might need a couple weeks in the NICU to learn to nipple their feeds, but that’s it.

@alyakim They’re actually sending us home for strict bedrest and home monitoring tomorrow, if nothing drastically changes. She’s 34 weeks today, her Bp’s stabilized to an average of 140/90 last night, baby looks great on monitor, just went from doing vitals every hour, to now every 4 until they release us. Wife has no contractions. I think she just has horrible anxiety and when we noticed it going up, she freaked out and it wouldn’t come down - then when the doctor told us that welll be delivering within 48 hours, it shot up over 190/90 something. Anxiety mixed with white coat syndrome.

Luckily we’ve had nothing but great experiences with every doctor, and our OB, our hospital, and the one they transferred us to, with a NICU.

@skillz Sitting here in L&D, they stabilized her BP, but still slightly high. May hold her here until 37 weeks…

Prayers are greatly accepted.

@skillz Update for anyone following, they downgraded her to a step down unit, and since her BP has risen again. They have her on Labetalol IV, 20Mg. Not sure what’s in store for the next couple days.
