Miscarriage at 8.5 weeks. How to start over?

@xelador I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

I have a 3 year old and 1.5 year old who were both uneventful, healthy pregnancies. Then I had a miscarriage with my third at age 37. I was devastated. Around the same time as you (7-9 wk range). Definitely see a doctor to make sure she passes everything. I had a D&C to get everything out asap so they could test it to see if they knew why it happened AND so I could try again asap. I got pregnant on my next cycle a month later and am now 16 weeks along. Happy to answer any questions.

@xelador I think you need to go to the doctor. How do you know she has passed everything? Youre not a doctor. There might still be tissue inside. She needs to see her OBGYN to make sure everything is OK.

As far as trying again, you usually wait at least a month, after her first period. In fact, fertility is often increased the cycle after a miscarriage. If you were in your 20s you could take your time, but your not. The clock is ticking, and the older she gets the harder it is to conceive.
