Help with new formula

Hello, I'm in canada and my pediatrician just told me that the enfamil RTF for my newborn might be causing her the crazy gas and potentially acid reflux. He said it's time to try new formula and gave me a list of options, problem is I'm confused o which i w as I want her to still be able to eat dairy in future.

I'd like to find one closest to enfamil gentlease... (all sold out everywhere)

@universalistanthony Is your doctor thinking the baby has a protein allergy? Most babies with cmpa outgrow it by three years old, so using a non-dairy formula now has no bearing on being able to drink cow's milk in the future.

@sleeplesswhite Dr is not sure, but he said we need to either try a reduced lactose or partially hydrolyzed

@universalistanthony Go for partially hydrolyzed, actual lactose intolerance is rare in infants.

@universalistanthony It can take up to two weeks for baby's digestion to settle. 4-6 weeks old is a crazy time for gas and tummy trouble. If the partially hydrolyzed formula doesn't help after a few weeks, you may need to try soy formula or fully hydrolyzed formula.

@universalistanthony We had to use nutramigen for my son’s reflux and he eats dairy fine now! He doesn’t do well with straight up cow’s milk but does fine with items that have dairy in them and cheese/yogurt!

@universalistanthony I’ve found that my LO gets gassy and vomity on the RTF version of Enfamil, but with the powder version he’s fine. Try that switch first to see if it’s just the RTF!

@chamomiletea It’s cause the RTF has carrageenan in it which is notorious for being hard on their tummys
