@chase33 My son has always been like this. He's very independent and social with family and strangers or else happy to do his own thing. We go to a lot of playgroups and people always comment on how independent he is. He's 2 now. I see it as a positive.
Kids are all different. My friend has a child born the same week as my son who never wants to leave her arms, she'll put him down for a few minutes and he'll be crying to be picked up again. I literally never carry my son like that unless I have to carry him out of a place he doesn't want to leave! He's like 17kg now so thank goodness he doesn't expect to be lifted around all day!
