    Tipping Daycare Teachers

@tsjihoelang Not an American thing. OP used the wrong wording. We do a holiday gift not “tip” The rest of the world is obsessed with America’s tipping culture and unfortunately this post was worded wrong

    Tipping Daycare Teachers

@larniavc They do not expect tips, not in the slightest. OP meant that they were giving the teachers a holiday gift.

    Tipping Daycare Teachers

@dougbillie You don’t have to tip the daycare, no. What OP meant was a holiday gift for the teachers directly in their child’s classroom. It’s not mandatory at all, but a nice gesture. It can be something like a home made card or ornament all the way to cold hard cash.

    Tipping Daycare Teachers

@xclgreen It’s a Holiday gift, not really a “tip.” They work so hard and get paid next to nothing to spend time with my toddler all day so I give them cash at the holidays. We also give our garbage man and cleaning ladies cash this time of year!

@1stjohn0666 Your post is too relevant for me! We have the same thing. All of our PTO was spent on family. Not all bad…some of it is a family planned trip to a different location. But we really got sick of not having any time for our nuclear family. We try to take a few weekends here and there...

    Tipping Daycare Teachers

@truthx1111 I know what you’re saying here… but aren’t your kids teachers “in your life” just as much as anyone else?
