    House hunting is terrible

@daps32 That is weird but I've seen it plenty in my time. I had to gtfo of those areas. Old = work 99.9% of the time. Charm is realtor speak for bad floors, whistling windows and sooty furnace. I hear you about the ex felon trade, we had our roof redone last summer. We decided to live rural...

    House hunting is terrible

@daps32 You can look into old colonials but they almost always require renovation. There are some by me in a downtown old main street area that are newer than my current house (civil war era brick farmhouse) that run $150k-$165k but again, renovation is a given on these types of house. All are...

    So. Freaking. Burnt. Out

@cornerstoneeg They are 26 mos, 34 mos and 22 mos. My oldest was born a few weeks before I turned 30 and our last was right before I turned 37. I just turned 39 and I'm wondering where my 30's went. It is the best age gap though. The 34 month gap is between my second son and only girl. It's...

    So. Freaking. Burnt. Out

@cornerstoneeg I feel you! My oldest has ADHD and has never sat still, stopped napping at 18 months and is basically a frenetic ball of energy. Get through the pregnancy and you'll be set. Right now you feel worse as each day goes by, physically and mentally. Just the opposite happens after...

Give your best line for “no”

@kimmjohns That sounds like a lot of fun! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Unfortunately we won't be going. My in laws booked us on a cruise after I went on one with them and my husband before we had kids. It was the worst! Cruising is not for me, it encapsulates everything I can't...

    Siblings Waking up at Night

@caseyjo Also a parent of 4: 12, 9, 7, 5. Our pediatrician said when our oldest had severe and long lasting sleep issues that most children "learn to sleep" by age 7. I've found this to be largely true, except for our oldest who has ADHD and has to take medication to sleep.

    So. Freaking. Burnt. Out

@cornerstoneeg There is no truer hell than being pregnant with a toddler. I've done it 3x. It never gets better. It is temporary though. Play statues with him. Your statue is a sleepy one that lays on its left side. You will get through this. PS: 2 and 4 is almost as fun as pregnant with...

    Lowering food costs

@clh72481 We never eat out or convenience foods. The kids and I rarely eat meat. Our groceries for a family of 6 is about $125 a week for everything everyone eats and drinks.

    Which transition was hardest?

@laraineclark I am sending you every bit of patience and energy my tired 40 year old ass has (it's not much, I'm sorry.)

    Which transition was hardest?

@texan2 1 to 2 is the worst. I have 4. After 2 it's just about logistics. You're already thinking on your feet 24/7. The immediate infant phase is exponentially harder with each kid. That part definitely gets worse with quantity. I've been awake for 10 years!

    Schedule for your day?

@jtcarrieres Preach. 4 here also and I'm ~9 years behind, roughly.

How would you respond to this?

@ajewelinhiscrown I would let the school know about younger siblings and ask for their patience as you work through this SUPREMELY SHITTY AND AWFUL TIME. Goddamn, you have my sympathy. I have 4 all born within 2-3 years of each other and my older kids are - just as bad as the little ones about...

    R.I.P. Old Life

@lambo53 The key here is exhausted hours.. This isn't quality time, it's the exact opposite. It's the worst time of all. You sit there feeling like garbage, god forbid you take a glance at yourself in the mirror. Then you have to weigh staying up to savor this trash time - which is all you...

    R.I.P. Old Life

@katrina2017 Here's a crackerjack for ya. Last night I'm trying to get through 30 Coins and remain awake. I went to grocery pickup yesterday and got some ice cream, because - ice cream. This dawned on me at around 10 pm. I asked my husband if he wanted some and he said yes but made a crack...

    Is 3 almost easier?

@morgannicole555 2 to 3 was the most difficult for me because you only have two hands and two parents. 3 to 4 was a breeze because you already have your groove and know how to manage each child and their level.

    R.I.P. Old Life

@katrina2017 I'm sure that you love your husband as I love mine but the level of their obliviousness is astounding.
