Did you really wait 6 weeks postpartum to resume exercise?

@felicitys With my first (c section) i started walking earlier, but waited a little over 3 mo to resume my workouts. I did do abdominal pt and stretching though. This time I hope to set myself up for success to begin core breathwork and gentle things a bit sooner than that 😁

i’m worried that my eating disorder will come back post partum and I’m really scared

@aiambutasmallvoice Do you have a counselor you can talk to about this? Its totally okay to need more support.

7 months postpartum and body still looking bad. It makes me feel sad to look at it

@stellasam Seconding the recommendations of physical therapy for your abs and pelvic floor. Feeling awkward in your movements could be a sign of muscular imbalances. Also echoing that nursing can slow our changes down due to hormones. Many women under-nourish as an attempt to lose weight but...

Is it normal to be this out of shape? 15 weeks

@jimmie926 I was essentially also prone for 2 months due to severe sciatic pain--i also basically lost all fitness. It's the worst. Keep doing whatever you can, definitely a process! I had to restart from basically zero stamina.

    Lower Back Strength Exercises

@vbytuffff Sometimes, lower back pain can be due to how we are using/not using our abs. Any of those exercises you mentioned can be done with a special focus on engaging the abs (esp transverse abs). It may help! Glutes are another common culprit. I do a lot of modified dead bugs with ab cueing...

    Looking for C section experiences

@praskovia I had a section but i wasn't training during the pregnancy. I am a pole dancer and had been able (between pregnancies) to regain my skill level and progress. I had a great recovery physically, but did take abdominal pt. Mentally there was some toughness, i have never been able to get...

    How do y’all do it??

@stephenk Also 16 weeks, but i already have a kid so my illusion of me-time now and after birth is distant. Basically i am embracing "something is better than nothing" mindset. I do very much miss my strength and my sport. It is going to take time to heal, and it won't always be linear, which is...

Is walking good enough if I can’t run anymore?

@sherithorb Walking is great, but you shouldn't have to deal with pain. Can you get a chiro or massage visit so you can get some relief?

Doc Says Don’t Go Over 140?

@ruella I liked this article from a decent data standpoint, https://journals.lww.com/nsca-scj/Fulltext/2021/12000/Considerations_for_the_Pregnant_Endurance_Athlete.5.aspx Hopefully it gives you the info you need to make the right decisions for you.

How far along are you and what’s your workout routine?

@e2014 26 weeks. After a horrible first tri (sciatica so bad I couldn't sit or walk) i had to stop doing my sport (pole dance) and focus on regaining mobility, strength, and stamina. I do 2-4 sessions on the exercise bike per week, some weights (dumbbells, but I worked up from bodyweight)...

When were you able to go back to your pre-pregnancy strength again after a c-section?

@hennaz222 I don't remember exactly when, but I met/surpassed my pregregnancy strength after section sometime between 18mo/2 years pp. Stopping nursing helped, as hormones shifted, and better sleep helped a lot! (My kid needed sleep lessons I think lol).

    Postpartum workouts

@jaychristian I had a hard time with loose skin, it persisted I think until I was done nursing, maybe more (so 2+ years). And still hasn't fully gone away. You are not alone
