@redeemed20300 Yeah, maybe not all states but probably most do it that way. There's a mention of it here although the study is focused specifically on bullying as a reason for missing school and not illness, but either way the school lost out on that money.

@lynnede I just want to say that he is a terrible person for what he did. What he did is NOT a reflection on you, or your worth. It's a reflection of how insecure he is, and how little he values the supportive and caring people in his life and relationships, which shows us so much more about him...

@redeemed20300 Schools get paid per ass in seat. They lose out on $$ each day a child is absent. That's the motivation.

@katrina2017 Doesn't save it from being left on the roof of the car and driving off with it up there though haha. I do like the basic Amazon protector (and there's cheaper off-brand options similar), ours lasted until a kid stood on it last time. It gets dropped all the time, nothing happens...
