Concerns about extreme 'cry it out' for a 10 week old

@gladaonkth Just adding another comment to the pile that this is 100% neglect. Even when doing CIO at a developmentally appropriate age (4+mo) you should not be letting a baby cry so much they vomit--that's a sign that CIO is not the sleep training method for them. Honestly boomers should...

Safe Sleep 7 says formula fed babies shouldn’t co-sleep/bed-share. Do you?

@chenml60 I exclusively nurse at night so I can’t totally answer your question, but the reasoning I’ve seen for the breastfeeding thing is that breastfed babies tend to stay near your breast and naturally wake up more often. That being said imo this is the least important aspect of SS7 and...

Do people with kids work *harder*?

@123ab $150k for a single person in your early 20s is near the top 1%: https://dqydj.com/average-median-top-income-by-age-percentiles/ The $800k is for families, not an individual.

Close call this morning but can’t figure out how

@holl Weird, I swear I saw a comment here before recommending a futon off Amazon. What’s wrong with indentations?

    Unvaccinated Nanny

@lauriesinglemom First of all, would absolutely not go with any childcare provider that didn’t have their COVID vaccine. It’s not even just that not having the vaccine is bad, but I wouldn’t want my kids being taught things but someone who may possibly be an anti-vaxxer / COVID denier. Second...

Do people with kids work *harder*?

@katrina2017 idk what your husband's income has to do with single people in their 20s

Close call this morning but can’t figure out how

@katrina2017 That’s a good idea! Yeah I basically do not move from whatever position I fall asleep in so that could work

STM’s, did you actually “bounce back”?

@cuteness20 Genetics is definitely part of it, but I also think what types of exercise you did are important too. I think it's easier to bounce back if you were doing strength training before/during pregnancy as muscle will burn more calories even at rest vs someone who was doing mostly or...

How am I ever going to feel ok moving my firstborn to her own room?

@christlike777 Probably because she doesn't want the baby to wake up the toddler

Do people with kids work *harder*?

@katrina2017 You keep missing the context that I'm talking about single people with no dependents. And yes you're right that any place with new grads making that much is HCOL/VHCOL, but not to the point where they can complain about having to do work for that much money. And a one bedroom...

Do people with kids work *harder*?

@cins I can definitely appreciate the attitude of not being loyal to a company or sacrificing your mental health for one. I'd say even people my age (younger millenials) generally don't subscribe to company loyalty, or care all that much about getting to the top.

Close call this morning but can’t figure out how

@perviasrectas I’ll definitely skip the sleep sack next time. It’s nice for when he’s in the crib but laying next to me he gets my body heat

Do people with kids work *harder*?

@cins Ehh I work in a job where kids make $150 - $200k straight out of undergrad. While I don’t expect my gen Z reports to be working 60hr wks, I do have very low tolerance for people bitching about having to work hard in a job that puts you in the 1% at 23. I’ve even had conversations with...

Do people with kids work *harder*?

@whitm11 Are you sure this isn't just a seniority thing? I definitely work more post-kids but that's because I'm a senior manager now, not a junior engineer. There's also the fact that people with kids may be more motivated to not be fired/laid off since they're providing for someone else.

@joan1431 Ohh I didn’t even think about that. That could be possibility as he liked to snack in the early mornings

Close call this morning but can’t figure out how

I had a very close suffocation call this morning but have been racking my brain trying to figure out how it happened. My son is 9wks, he mostly sleeps in the crib at night but we will cosleep in the very early hours of the morning. We are following all safe sleep 7 guidelines—I nurse him, we...

Do you tell your pediatrician you’re bedsharing ?

@person47 No. I don’t see the point since pediatricians are basically obligated to lecture you about the ABCs of sleep
