Tell me I’m not a bad parent

@dan54fis We’ve talked about our tablets being used for plane travel, but we really don’t want our daughter to have her own tablet until she’s much older. I’d rather it be a means to just watch a movie/tv show on the go until she’s older. I definitely don’t judge others for what they choose to...

Tell me I’m not a bad parent

@dan54fis My take on screentime is that big screen in normal qualities is fine (hell, I was raised with a tv on like half the time with working parents), but I’m more wary of tablets. Sitting and passively watching something that’s on (and not like swiping through YouTube videos the second you...

Anyone else’s baby fit into smaller age size in clothes?

@netty805 Totally, and I don’t even have a small child. Some brands run wildly large. Mine is 5 months 90th percentile for height and literally just grew out of 0-3 Burt’s bees sleepers. Cloud Island bodysuits still fitting fine in the 3 month size. Meanwhile, her Carters size 6 pants have all...

Please convince me that it’s okay to quit pumping

@msl74pc Pumping sucks so bad. I felt a rush of relief and joy when I packed up my pump and quit combo feeding. She’s thriving at 5 months on formula alone (and now also licking lots of different foods). I love that I can go have a baby-free life for several hours at a time when I’m able. A...

Should I even get a breast pump?

@kristen777 I kept my parts in the fridge and washed every few pumps instead of every time. I also bought a second set of things so I was really just washing my parts once a day with all the bottles. Wasn’t bad at all. Pumping wasn’t my favorite but it was also really nice sometimes to have an...

    ~34 weeks and noticed DR

@carlett Does your insurance cover pt? If it does, I’d start pt now for your pelvic floor and they can also help address dr and what to do now and postpartum to minimize it.

I feel like I need some sense talked into me

@madamimadaminchrist 33 weeks is when i suddenly felt so insanely pregnant and like I needed to rest way more than I had since the beginning. It’s a really normal time to feel the need to slow down and gather your strength for the growing baby is doing in those last 7ish weeks and for your...

2 weeks old drink every 2 hours?

@fredthefrench Mine does every 2-2.5 hours at 4.5 months, so it’s definitely normal at that age. She sleeps 10 hours straight at night so I figure she’s got to get it all in before bedtime.

    Cold Water Swimming in Pregnancy

@mellisamouse Second trimester into third. I really wouldn’t think twice about the cold swims while ttc. If you want to be super cautious you could ask your doctor after a positive what is recommended. Mine knew I was swimming in all kinds of cold water and didn’t have an issue with it.

    Cold Water Swimming in Pregnancy

@mellisamouse I swam in pretty cold pools (not that cold, but it’s a quick plunge) through half of my pregnancy (our pool is crazy deep and never gets warm so it goes from frigid to cool and back to frigid during the CT summer). I swam in cold May ocean too. Temperature ttc is more important for...

    Slowing Down

@oranges I felt exhausted no matter how much I slept first trimester. I couldn’t do much of anything. It went away in week 13. I would probably avoid body pump going forward. It seems too intense for a new workout while pregnant. If you’re not in a workout routine, I’d add in yoga (so easy to...

    Thinking about going full formula

@chaz1268 This sounds like my situation, except you’ve already lasted longer than me. Nothing helped boost supply and pumping was driving me to insanity, especially never seeing much per session. I stopped when she was 9 weeks. Husband was back at work, I just couldn’t sustain it anymore. Give...

    FTM - Nursery Questions

@reekypear What about something like this as a crib, changing table, and storage option? There’s a lot of similar and less expensive options out there too. My back would be a mess trying to change my baby on the floor all the time, so I do recommend setting up an actual table height changing...
