Feeling like there’s no options for me

My husband and I have seen three fertility specialists in the last 2 years - it looks like IVF is our only option, so I’ve been searching for a clinic that doesn’t have BMI restrictions after the first one said they had a cut off of 40. After research, I found a clinic that said it was a case by case basis and another that said the cut off was 49 - only to go through the whole process to figure out out yes, IVF is our only option and their BMI cut offs were both 40.

I’m currently at 52, and would have to lose 80 pounds. I just don’t think my body can do that and more importantly, I don’t want to put myself through that shit. I’m almost 36 and I don’t think I have 1-2 years of the insanity of a weight loss focused life in me… and then have to start IVF being even older.

I’m honestly about to give up. I cried during the consultation today, at which point they brought up ozempic. It’s just too much.

Anyway, I have no idea what to do. I’ve contacted all of the clinics in my city (denver, which honestly f this town) to no avail. They just keep telling me I need to be healthy to have a baby but then comment on how all my tests are great and I’m healthy like it’s a surprise? I’m just tired.

@linda_pow I'm really sorry you are going through this! I just wanted to share that you should look into CNY Fertility. They don't turn people away based on BMI and have lots of locations around the US.

@linda_pow I’m with the others on CNY. They’re in Colorado Springs. They take everyone regardless of BMI and they cost about a third of other IVF places. If I were you, I would contact them sooner than later. They tend to book out months in advance.
