But I would love an option that I could put one of the sides down to reach my baby more easily + to lay down next to her safely. However, I was reading that bedside cribs were banned due to unsafety, and I was wondering if there are any options that are legal and safe.

@rwg319 Honestly the thing that worked best for us was a pack and play with bassinet insert. With the bassinet level, it worked perfectly at the level of our bed. Also easy to move around and convenient for travel.

@darlingdaughter That was my first idea, but most pack-and-plays only allow a one-inch mattress, and the ideal thickness of a mattress should be around 5-6 inches. So I wouldn't be able to use a 5-inch mattress on a pack and play due to suffocation risks.
