7 day doubling time

I am now 7 weeks 5 days (according to ultrasound) and baby has a heart rate of 138/9. I am on progesterone for low levels. My HcG is increasing but very slowly. It’s about a 7.7 day doubling time. It’s slowing down. We are going to be doing ultrasounds weekly and checking my levels weekly, but I’m so worried and I just hate being in this limbo. My levels are within range for 7-8 weeks. At the beginning they were doubling every 2 days, then every 3, now it’s every 7. Level 1 last Friday was 34504 and Level 2 yesterday (6 days apart) was 59319. Just under 25000 increase. I want to be optimistic since baby is measuring 2 days ahead of where we were last week and heart rate shot up from 115 in just one week. But why aren’t my HcG levels rising?

@apologeticsguy Is your OB ordering your HCG? Or just your progesterone?

It is very very odd to have HCG checked once you can detect a HB on ultrasound. Like, pointless. In fact, HCG will start dropping between 9-12w. It doesn’t just continuously double.

There is nothing that HCG can tell you at this point and you don’t want it to continue to double every 2 days anymore. In fact, high levels after 12 weeks can be indicative of various trisomies.

@inquirer17 She has been ordering them just to ease my anxiety honestly, but she’s worried about them climbing so slowly between 6-8 weeks. I’ve been reading that it doesn’t really matter much after 5 weeks though

@apologeticsguy Once you hit over 1,000 HCG it's not gonna double in 48 hours anymore. Especially with the level your at now. Ultrasounds trump HCG levels so if your at the point that you can see something on an ultrasound HCG levels are basically useless
