    Hunt, gather, parent

@joshdons From a fellow anthropologist, I love the commentary! I think it also depends on the kid. My kid has been slow to warm up to playing independently at playgrounds and for months only wanted to sit on my lap. I'm not going to say no if that's what she asks for. She's always helped out at...

Nurse told me to stop breastfeeding at night

@amandak695 My girl ate a bunch of solids around 8-12 months then went back to almost only breastmilk until 16 months, then finally started eating consistently. It can change a lot! Withholding the food baby wants isn't going to make them eat more of what they don't want. I think your theory...

Is there any hope we r 2,5 months old with the shallow latch

@laurencesantos Is baby gaining? Does it hurt? If baby is gaining and it doesn't hurt then it isn't really a problem.

I’m sick and tired of being told “JuSt GEt up BeForE tHe KiDs”

@zazzi I read that as "normal time kids," which my daughter definitely is not! 😅 She prefers to sleep about 9.5 hours at night, has done since she was about a year old. When am I having all this adult dinner time??? Even date night feels like an exhausting chore because if we stay out past...

Newborn has trouble sleeping in bassinet so we tried bedsharing last night and it worked but we're still worried

@selja Here's a link for the Safe Sleep Seven https://www.llli.org/the-safe-sleep-seven/ The US is way behind the rest of the world in offering risk reduction techniques for bedsharing, it sounds like that's where you're from. Here is some info from the UK...

Recommendations for places that sell affordable baby clothes with natural fibers/somewhat sustainable?

@kennethe62 Primary is very affordable and solid, indestructible, great-washing basics. Everything runs VERY small though. ESPECIALLY the leggings. My girl was starting 3T in them last fall when she was still 24mo/2T in everything else. In general, I would ask for 6+ month clothes through the...

@834m3r I get 7-10 for 10 hours away for my baby. She takes 6 or less because she prefers the source. It's so different for both of us!

@dtom Yup, 10 months was a huge progression for my baby's sleep too! Glad you're getting more rest!!

Recommendations for places that sell affordable baby clothes with natural fibers/somewhat sustainable?

@kennethe62 Also: I believe your registry is for splurges! Buy the cheaper workhorse stuff yourself, give folks the opportunity to get *special* items. Just be sure to dress baby up in the splurge items and share pictures with whoever got it when they grow into it.
