I am right at 165 pounds and took a plan b yesterday..i’m scared

@lorilyons6 You shouldn’t double the dosage but every other source I’ve seen states that after 190lbs EllaOne will lose a significant amount of efficacy. Considering clinical studies are usually only conducted on people with a normal range BMI I’m more inclined to trust third-party studies over...

I am right at 165 pounds and took a plan b yesterday..i’m scared

@lorilyons6 Unfortunately, they cannot take EllaOne after taking Plan B. EllaOne interrupts how progesterone works in the body. As a result, it cannot be used alongside Plan B or any other hormonal birth control. They’ll basically cancel each other out, increasing your overall risk of pregnancy...

I am right at 165 pounds and took a plan b yesterday..i’m scared

@randybrice It is less effective, but taking it was still the right choice. If you can’t risk a pregnancy at all you could consider having an IUD (Paraguard, Mirena, Liletta) placed within 5 days as emergency contraception. In the future, EllaOne would be a better option as long as you’re not...

I KNOW IM SCREWED BUT WHAT DO I DO !

@nomerhunks For sure, just wanted to make sure OP didn’t see this comment and take Ella out of panic/anxiety. Unfortunately, I’ve seen many people on this sub have protected sex and retroactively decrease their protection by doing just that.

I KNOW IM SCREWED BUT WHAT DO I DO !

@nomerhunks Ella cannot be used with hormonal contraception, they counteract each other. Taking Ella would actually decrease OP’s protection.

What temperature that I need to store birth control pills ( yasmine )

@applebee1344 16-17 C is below standard room temperature. I wouldn’t start getting worried unless your room regularly goes above 25°. The fridge isn’t really a dry environment because there isn’t much air circulation. Take them out of the fridge.

What temperature that I need to store birth control pills ( yasmine )

@applebee1344 Is there a reason you're storing them in the fridge? Room temperature is usually completely fine. My concern with the fridge would be moisture.

I KNOW IM SCREWED BUT WHAT DO I DO !

@andyleechristian Yes, but for something to work as emergency contraception it must take effect quickly. You can have mirena placed up to 5 days after sex and it’s effective as EC. If it took another week to take effect, there would be enough time for fertilization and possibly implantation...

I KNOW IM SCREWED BUT WHAT DO I DO !

@andyleechristian Mirena is also recommended by Planned Parnethood as emergency contraception. Your main concern here would be STIs.

    S.O.S

@kkaye The sex is fully unprotected. Birth control pills only work if you take them everyday or if you take a number of them to form a Plan B. However, you also only took two pills once. This is not enough to act as emergency contraception. Copper IUDs can be used as emergency contraception...

All of the research on Natural Cycles is written by the CEOs

@seeker422 I have been meaning to do a deep dive into the research of Natural Cycles for this reason but life keeps interrupting. I think a critique of the literature would be really beneficial for a lot of people on this sub.

I don't even have sex anymore

@cscotte I'm happy to share. I hope that you or your loved ones never need them, but I think it's helpful to know that there are resources. I can't offer much assistance from Canada, but spreading awareness of resources is something we can all do to help increase access to safe abortions.

I don't even have sex anymore

@avonmora Let me also take a moment to mention that there are resources to help people access abortions even if they live in an area where termination is illegal. r/auntienetwork can help with things such as transportation, lodging, and support. Aid Access, Plan C Pills and Women on Web are...

Doctor wouldn’t prescribe me plan b and I felt dumb for asking

@maximizer Please call your local planned parenthood. They will sell you it for cheaper and often take insurance. If it has been some time since the unprotected sex you may want to consider longer acting emergency contraceptive like the copper IUD.
