What time does your toddler who still naps go to sleep?

@geranium Turning 3 this week. Wake up generally between 7-7:30 am. No nap, going on 8 or 9 months 🥴 Bed time is between 7:30-8. She generally falls asleep within 30 minutes of us leaving the room. If she naps after a long morning or in the car, bedtime moves to 9:30 ish. I try not to let...

    Fit check please!

@guinin I think moby and boba both offer these. I will look into it!

    Fit check please!

@guinin Thank you. I find it hard to get the legs higher than the bum in any carrier. The Moby seems like there is no where else for her to go? I guess I need to keep practicing, but this is what's frustrating to me. I have been at this for four months with very little progress :/ I also...

    Fit check please!

I posted yesterday about some frustrations I've been having with all of my carriers. I got some good tips but of course pictures would've been helpful from the start, so I thought I'd post again with some pictures and questions. Baby is a few days shy of 4 months, about 16 pounds. First is my...

    Unmedicated birth advice

@paddy999 YES! I think we overthink it so much because of all the options these days. Not saying books and classes aren’t helpful but there’s a lot of noise out there.

    Unmedicated birth advice

@goodman916 This is such a nice way of putting it! I think panic can change the pain to suffering, as can other distractions like a busy hospital, needles poking you, unfamiliar voices and opinions…protecting that labor bubble is important and it’s probably best to have your husband or a doula...

Anyone else walk into a big box store and feel like they’re the only ones awake in some sort of toxic capitalist matrix?

@john_geeshu Agreed, I consider myself to have pretty good nutritional literacy. I’m great at reading labels after years of veganism and have learned so much about food and ingredients in that time and beyond. But…if we’re on a road trip we do a drive thru. Like, it happens. Sometimes I buy my...

Anyone else walk into a big box store and feel like they’re the only ones awake in some sort of toxic capitalist matrix?

@pink1310 I also shop at a regional chain grocery similar to Safeway. There’s a really crappy Whole Foods (like the worst one ever. Don’t get how it’s still open lol) about 25 mins from me and a few more within 30-40 minutes but give me my big grocery store 10 mins away please. They have loads...

Anyone else walk into a big box store and feel like they’re the only ones awake in some sort of toxic capitalist matrix?

@pink1310 Yup haha store’s a store. Just because you normally shop at Whole Foods or sprouts, doesn’t mean there isn’t marketing there too. It’s just beiger and “healthier”

    He’s asleep before 7…

@dmoffett Same! As a SAHM the early schedule doesn't make sense to me. If we all had to get up and go to daycare and work then I can see it. But we start bedtime at 8:30 and she's generally down by 9:30, sometimes a tiny bit earlier. She's actually just waking up now at 7:45 am and we get a 2...

Struggling treating 2 yr old’s chronic constipation

@petronoris I mean this person is already giving laxatives and has done a bowel cleanse. I think it’s okay to suggest they try a pear pouch.

Struggling treating 2 yr old’s chronic constipation

@sparker My daughter went through a constipated phase when we started solids and pears always did it!! Definitely worth trying different fruits and food options before resorting to laxatives especially on a regular basis as she can become dependent.

How to smell good in a nontoxic way?

@superpeople Can you use Dr. Bronner’s lavender or something? You can also make a body spray with witch hazel and herbs, or try hydrosols. But mostly I think smelling like nothing IS smelling good. I don’t want to smell perfume, laundry detergent, or any other cleaning products, personally.

Organic cotton clothes for chunky babies?

@dol1lbabyzs I’m not sure if it’s organic but all our Janie and Jack onesies were short and wide! My daughter was a chunky baby too but also long. Clothes were always hard especially with cloth diapers! Lol

FTM — All my baby hand-me-downs clothes reek of toxic detergent and I can’t wash the smell out

@scottishsoul I actually messaged them about it. The problem is they don’t do anything. They just require clothes to be clean when they arrive and they toss them straight on the rack!

FTM — All my baby hand-me-downs clothes reek of toxic detergent and I can’t wash the smell out

@sabresong It’s sooo bad. We shop at once upon a child and so many of the clothes reek. Most of my friends irl are crunchy or crunchy enough to use unscented detergent anyway. I just can’t imagine constantly having that smell around!! I can smell people in public haha it’s so bad. I don’t get...

What's your wash routine? Also, anyone use Arm and Hammer Free and Clear Detergent or Shout spot spray with pocket diapers or inserts?

@micharlie I like free and clear because it’s fragrance free! So I make my monthly trip to Walmart specifically for the Tide free and gentle powder 😅 it’s the only retailer in the US that I’ve found to carry it, but it works great. As far as I know it’s the exact same formula as normal Tide...

I am team crib til college. Change my mind

@pman40 Did you replace the front of the crib with a toddler rail? Mine is out of stock but I feel like taking the front off makes so much sense, but I’d also worry it won’t be stable?
