    C-section advice

@wandkrie What carrier is she using right now? There’s probably a way to use it differently or an inexpensive alternative

@danny2023 Did the rash come back right away after the sanitize?

    Stubborn Detergent Buildup

@danny2023 I am! The only parts behind the paywall are for bleach sanitizing and for AUS/NZ/UK advice. You can get their wash routine info for free. I have followed their routines from day 1 and would happily eat off my cleaned diapers.

Q for Parents who started using Cloth w Newborn

@rui Cloth at night is a lot more work once they start sleeping 4+ hours. Harder to get enough absorbency and harder to remove the super soaked in pee. Requires not only extra diaper products but also more stringent wash routine. I do cloth at night but I’m a glutton for punishment Not only...

    Stubborn Detergent Buildup

@danny2023 Hahaha washing diapers is my mom hobby so I'm happy to put our heads together on this! Another avenue to pursue - this is a traditional top-loader, just real tiny. What is the water-to-item level when you wash the diapers? Is it most like a chili, stew, or soup?

    Stubborn Detergent Buildup

@danny2023 The yeast rash sounds so disheartening. My mind goes to wondering why bleaching didn’t prevent the rash from returning. For the bleaching, was the bleach freshly purchased? Bleach degrades from the moment it’s produced and it’s not reliable after about 6 months. I don’t see any...

    Stubborn Detergent Buildup

@danny2023 Can you take a photo of the ingredients panel of your detergent? Some detergents include ingredients that coat the fabric and are hard to wash out. I havent seen any evidence that the swish test accuratley indicates that you have leftover detergent. Your current routine is...

Baby was born early and the new born size 0 diapers are tiny bits too big

@benstiller12 It took my son over a month to truly fit into newborn sizes! Its gonna be fun when he’s ready!

    Birth preferences (C-section or vaginal)

@kyfisher1 Good point. Is there any quirk to this in your country? My experience is only with ridiculous US system where patient cost generally increases at the same rate as procedure/expense (twice the number of nights in the hospital to recover from labor? Pay twice the price!)

    Birth preferences (C-section or vaginal)

@chris516 Elective c-sections are less common than they used to be but they’re still pretty accessible. From a financial standpoint, they can cost about double what an uncomplicated vaginal birth does (or more if you have surgery or recovery complications). You can build a savings plan to keep...

@lourdes I personally run the pre wash every night to avoid any negative consequences

    Cloth diaper stains

@buckeye_momof4 I agree with this, especially with a HE top loader. I do think you may be able to have a stain free EBF wash experience if you add bleach to your pre wash , or if you use a front loader… but everyone else is gonna have some amount of staining during EBF phase

    detergent q’s

@jmv pods. No. Short term use isn’t a big deal but they will leave a coating long term free and clear you have to be choosy. Most of them are weak. tide free + gentle liquid and all free & clear powder are the best options. liquid or powder doesn’t matter unless you have super hard water, in...

    Washing question

@lourdes Figure out loading first. I have a 4.2cf LG front loader too and I load it full when dry which results in 3/4 full wet.

@kv78b Why no detergent in pre wash? Detergent + oxiclean is definitely better than no detergent

    Pocket Diaper Leaking

@osh You’ve gone this long with a single insert without major leaks!? I had to switch to double insert around 6mo

    Diaper rash is inevitable

@cathya Once we figured out our wash routine, we’ve only only had rashes on rare occasions (weird food, the one time we switched to a detergent his butt didn’t like)

@luvthetruth Is he pretty comfortable with wrapping the Solly? Look into a size 5 woven wrap for him.
