When did you stop tracking everything for baby (e.g., nursing sessions, wet/soiled diapers, sleep duration, etc.)?

@christiangirl94 I only track milk and occasionally naps. My baby is very on the clock so it has been a great way to help us figure out his needs. We do follow him so if he’s hungry sooner or later he gets fed when he wants. It has jus spared us from lots of trial and error to figure out why...

@projectsocial Do you know Dutch? Otherwise I’m afraid it won’t be very helpful.

    Unmedicated birth advice

@catholic2001 My birth course was more mindfulness based than hypnobirthing. However I fully recommend either one. In my course there was a lot of focus on preparing by doing guided mindfulness exercises. Repetition helps build pathways in your brain. So when I was in labor I pretty quickly...

Can anyone actually get baby in backpack position themselves??

@outofplace_christian They go under your arm. So hold the straps tight and angle your elbow upwards.

    Fit check please!

@reneprays In that case I would suggest you try to book a consultantation with a babywearing consultant. Some hands on help would probably be really helpful. Maybe one of the brands you ordered your carriers from offers them online for free on their website?

Can anyone actually get baby in backpack position themselves??

So this is a different carrier, but that doesn’t matter. The process is shown really well.

My baby is obsessed with watching me eat

@wearethechristiangems Yes same. Was totally planning on waiting until 6 months but baby was already so interested that we started two weeks earlier with an ice cube worth of puree. He loved it.

Can anyone actually get baby in backpack position themselves??

@outofplace_christian Yeah no problem. We do a hipscoot. Assume we’re scooting over your right side. Put baby in on your front/side. Hold the straps with your left hand, close together close to baby’s head. Scoot baby to your right side. Put your right arm through the strap it is supposed to...

    Fit check please!

@reneprays Overall I think you have to work a little on getting baby in a proper seat with all carriers. If you look at the first moby picture you can see baby’s bum is higher than their knee. The knee should be slightly higher than their bum. So for all carriers, if you have just put baby in...

    Help me choose an SSC

@calso I am not sure if they’re available in the US, but the Isara the One might fit your needs. It’s not an apron style though. It goes up to size 104 cm so that’s quite a long time because it is very very adjustable. (That also makes it a tiny bit complicated to adjust properly when you...

If you work in office M-F and have a short commute (5-10 minutes), how do you feel about your setup?

@onkos1 So it will suck for a little bit when you are getting used to it, but soon you’ll find your groove and it will be fine. I think it’s just cold feet. My son goes to daycare 4 days a week. I go to the office 3-4 days a week and have a 10 minute commute. For me it honestly doesn’t matter...

Desperate to find a good carrier r/babywearing

@pitcharan I disagree on the last part of your comment. If you use it enough it can be just as fast. It’s just personal preference.

I’m struggling to know - what’s worth swapping?

@rmorgan79 Personally I apply this to plastic that contains a heated liquid or food that we are going to consume. I am not entirely sure about the effect of the dishwasher, but I am for myself working under the assumption that most micro plastics get released during heating and transferred then...

Carrier for 1.5 year old that will last.

@anditsnotmybirthday Yes you have to go by length and clothing size. At 18 months old your baby will probably be too small for most toddler carriers. Tula Toddler will fit from size 86/92. Lenny Lamb preschool goes from size 86 to 122. We personally have an Isara the one. That one goes from...

Please tell me what to add to my stash to make overnights stress-free (currently using disposables at night)

@mj82 So I am based in Europe. The advice in my country is usually to buy a dedicated fitted for nighttime. They are quite bulky but work really well. Then cover them with a wool cover or looser fit cover. We personally use the Lulu nature dodo diapers which we stuff with the the provided insert...

    Where to begin?

@evansli Prefolds are never a bad investment. You can always use them as an additional insert in any other type of diaper when you need more absorbency. And a couple of covers won’t break the bank either.

    Where to begin?

@joshuafranulovich These are excellent suggestions. One of my considerations was limiting how much synthetic materials I wanted too wash. So pocket diapers weren’t for me since every diaper would have to be washed and they’d all containin fleece and PUL. I chose to go with covers instead since...

Please no judgement - just a question

@divinemarissa Indeed. Weight only says something about the carriers seams being safety tested for babies from 8-15 lbs. It doesn’t say anything about the fit.

@flowernbloom So sorry that is your experience. I’m sure people who say that come from a good place. I truly wish you could experience what we do. Yes the 12 week / 3rd leap is rough but we saw so much development in our baby.
