    newly pregnant, run my half?

@monkeyroo If you feel like you are otherwise in shape to run it, and your OB doesn't see a problem, go for it. Pay extra attention to hydration. I was summiting 10k mountains and hiked the Narrows at Zion NP well into my second trimester. Stuck to smaller mountains and hikes during the 3rd...

Sibling gender (biological sex at birth)?

@christiangirl4life Ah. My husband is one of 3 brothers, 1 sister, his dad was 2 brothers, 1 sister, and every generation on his dad's we can trace back was all brothers. We've got a son. One of his brothers did have one of each. We'd also been hoping for one of each but sounds like it might be...

Sibling gender (biological sex at birth)?

@genxjeff My great grandfather's siblings were 7 boys, 3 girls. I'm not certain of birth order. I'm also pretty sure those were just the siblings that made it to adulthood, so I'm not actually sure of the real ratio.

    Freezer Stash & MIL

@katrina2017 If she is like my MIL, she put it all in bottles but threw it out when baby didnt finish the bottle. OP, are you freezing the amount you want fed in one feeding in a single bag? Or are you filling the bag to full and then freezing? For me, I stopped putting more than 3.5 oz in a...

Sibling gender (biological sex at birth)?

@al106 My great-great grandmother had 18 live births - only 11 survived to adulthood. My grandfather was the second to last. She started having kids at 18. She had her last at like 45. My great grandfather had nieces and nephews who were years older than him. There were no multiples. I just...

My ancestors had 9 and 11 kids starting in their 30s

@mercmorris28 My great-great grandmother had 18 children that survived infancy, starting at age 20, finishing up around 45. I'm sure there were miscarriages, and I know a couple of their children died in infancy or early childhood, making the number of pregnancies and births both higher. My...

Recommendations for places that sell affordable baby clothes with natural fibers/somewhat sustainable?

@ukuladypdx This is a major reason I only accepted hand me downs from people I knew personally, for clothing! I know my SIL uses free and clear because my niece has terrible eczema, so I had no qualms accepting a ton of baby clothes from her. But if you are buying off resale sights, thrifting...

My ancestors had 9 and 11 kids starting in their 30s

@mercmorris28 I wonder if that was intentional or if it was breastfeeding related. I think I've read it's harder to get pregnant while breastfeeding? Not 100% obviously - my husband's brother is only 11 months younger than he is!

Daycare swaddled my 9.5 mo for naps

@mum2017 There is NO scenario when it's appropriate to swaddle a 9 month old. If a 9 month is not rolling, it's a pretty severe developmental delay. Swaddling in a daycare setting isn't even legal in many, if not most, states.

Daycare swaddled my 9.5 mo for naps

@jwilliams190800 They basically intentionally restrained your mobile baby. Please speak with the director and consider reporting it to your states licensing board. Do not accept anything less than that teacher taking training on safe sleep. No one needs to be fired or shut down, this is just a...

Judge my Prenatal Viamin Regime! or Steal some ideas!

@jasonvr Get a blood test to confirm. I'm a 20+ year vegan who gets plenty of iron from my diet - lots of things have iron (eg any dark green vegetables), not just "protein".
