How do I break feeding to sleep association?

@allfree15 Just keep trying drowsy but awake. Eventually it’ll work. In the meantime, if it doesn’t work the first time, I’d feed to sleep next ❤️

Why should I not let my baby “use me as a human pacifier”

@yoshinat0r It’s fine! She can learn to self soothe / put herself to sleep later on. She’s so tiny, it’s totally fine.

6 months now what’s your normal with night sleep?

@aschreck I hope your little guy regulates soon! It’s so hard when they don’t sleep. (My first was trouble, lol.) Hang in there ❤️

6 months now what’s your normal with night sleep?

@aschreck We usually get our 6 month old down around 7:30. Sometimes she wakes a few times and needs her paci or to be rocked for a couple minutes. Then she sleeps til 4 or so, wakes for a feeding, and goes back down til 6ish. Sometimes she’ll sleep straight through til 6 🙌🏼 Hang in there!!!

S.O.S. Second baby coming tomorrow and I’m panicking

@rickram It’s such a big change! But your heart will expand just like the Grinch’s and you’ll have that overwhelming love for both of them. Seeing your big kid love on your baby kid is just the sweetest. Try to carve out some special daddy-son time here and there and do whatever you can to...

    a question of entitlement

@kezia How have these parents not communicated what will happen with the kids during their day off of school?? Like what? I can’t imagine a universe in which that just hadn’t come up between me and my husband. So, everybody sucks here, I guess?

Do people with kids work *harder*?

@whitm11 I bust ass at work and am highly efficient, but I definitely don’t work overtime unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Long term deployment w/o family: would you do it?

@jwesley No way. I would never voluntarily be away from my kid for that long. (I travel some for my job, and any longer than 5-6 days is sooo hard.) Your husband would likely struggle mightily with solo parenting plus a high stress job. I can’t see any reason why this would make sense, unless...

Suggestions for short torso 5'3" C-section mom

@mshelia Second time mom here, 5’5” and also a short torso, second C-section with a 4 year old at home. I loved my Solly wrap for the first 5 months or so!! I used it all the time and it was so handy for contact naps. I didn’t really baby wear the first time. This was awesome. Highly recommend.

Seeking advice about having 3 kids in daycare!

@chillcwill What about a nanny? Might be a similar cost.

Everytime she latches it feels like razor blades coming out of my nipples

@lsltylrs01 Sounds like baby is brand new? This can be normal. Your nipples toughen up! I did develop a little scab on one side and it hurt soooo bad, so I just nursed on the other side and pumped on that side for a couple days. It really helped.

How do you have time to do anything?

@babszie Sounds about right 🤷🏻‍♀️ I leave for work at 645 am, and I’m not done with my kids until after 9 pm (and that’s with an extremely involved co-parent!). I have figured out that I can only exercise at 530 am and the weekends. It’s tough to make that happen.

Do I have PPD/PPA or am I sleep deprived?

@iwantchristmore28 I did Lexapro and it was very helpful. Remember the 4 month sleep regression! (Oh god, my baby is 7 weeks and I’m dreading this already.) Mag e your guy is having a long one? Hugs!!!

Maternity Leave- what would you do?

@xxwunderkindxx The 3 weeks for your husband are paid, but not all of your 12 weeks are? I think I’d go for the 3 weeks for him, 9 weeks for you in that case, unless the money isn’t very consequential for you. In that case, I’d do 2 and 10. Dad deserves some time at home bonding with baby too...

    Why I'm quitting

@osvaldo I’m glad you were able to find a better situation! In my field (professional with a MS), unpaid FMLA leave is as good as it gets. I’m having a baby next week and using all my PTO, then the rest is unpaid. And I still need to log on and do my timesheet to account for my unpaid FMLA leave 🥲

    “Rules” for room sharing

@rustyt Do you have a monitor for your room? We do the same and have the monitor on when we’re not in the room. That all feels very safe.
