    My kid called me fat

@solidengr Those first two can be responded to with “okay.” Take all the power out of the words “fat” and “weird”. They’re just adjectives. Those other two need some correcting, though.

Breastfed exclusively for 6 months. Is formula ok now?

@reeses Yeah my Prozac-laced breastmilk isn’t gonna be better for my kids compared to formula, and I wouldn’t be comfortable using donor milk because I’ve seen the way some people approach food safety in their homes…

@nimbus The lactivism is strong there 😬

I had to listen to my SiLs baby CIO over the holidays

@kristyrh Daycare is no excuse. Not even a little bit. My daughter has been in daycare full time since 12 weeks and my husband and I absolutely still know her cues. Your SIL and her husband sound lazy and dumb at best, neglectful at worst.

    Fake fevers?

@husada Nausea can definitely be a sign of overheating, and they didn’t think to maybe take off the fleece and see if that helped? No wonder the kid was having a meltdown 😕

I had to listen to my SiLs baby CIO over the holidays

@deavallsbabe I learned how to help my daughter achieve independent sleep without crying because of that sub. Just because some people there are pro-CIO doesn’t mean that’s the entire sub.

Can anyone share a happy story of formula feeding from Day 1?

@tabbycat11 I was formula fed from birth, as was my husband. Our daughter has also been formula fed from birth. Formula has absolutely been the best decision for our family and I don’t feel even an ounce of guilt for it. My husband can help with feeds. I can take my anxiety meds without worrying...

What does it f e e l like to have bump vs bloat?

@allie920 I had the same feeling starting around 14 weeks ☺️ I would describe it as feeling like there’s a tennis ball in my lower belly.

Do people with kids work *harder*?

@123ab My ADHD hyperfocus begs to differ 🤣 (clearly this isn’t one of those days as I sit at my desk unable to focus)

Would you send baby for settle sessions at nursery when there's a d and v bug?

@47ford Glad I’m not the only one 😅 The next abbreviation I could think of was domestic violence and I knew that wasn’t it…

    I’m at a loss

@llg06 Waking to eat 2-3 times a night at that age is incredibly normal. He’s barely even out of the newborn potato phase right now. It should get better eventually without intervention, but you can actively start night weaning once he’s 6 months old. In the meantime, do you have a partner at...

Baby’s new pediatrician told us that formula has no nutritional value 😳

@melzy Came here to say exactly this! Anemia shouldn’t even remotely be a concern here unless the formula doesn’t contain iron for some reason.

Rash due to formula or another allergic reaction?

@stephsgarcia My only thought is maybe eczema, and depending on where you live the change in seasons could be contributing to that. However, I would think a pediatrician could quickly identify that.

FDA Issues Warning Letters to Three Infant Formula Manufacturers

@kashanali897 From what I can see, the issues are at a facility they had recently purchased from Nestle. That makes it a little less surprising imo.

How to respond to the F bomb?

@billthecableman Yes! I’m team “sentence enhancers.” As long as they aren’t aimed at anyone and are used in the comfort of our own home, have at it!

Anyone turn FF earlier than they hoped due to motion sickness?

@pulickalbrothers There are glasses that could help with the motion sickness. More on that (and why they work) here.

Can anyone share a happy story of formula feeding from Day 1?

@mikejh1199 Most hospitals will have RTF formula and disposable nipples available. I’d suggest asking what your hospital has. The nurses suggested I not use the bottles I brought so I didn’t have to worry about extra dishes when we got home (which was absolutely wonderful advice).

Wanting to go EFF but dealing with mastitis and clogged ducts

@loveisintheairkathryn You’ve gotten a lot of great tips here, so I’ll just add that my PCP advised I express just enough to relieve the pressure to prevent mastitis. I couldn’t figure out hand expressing, so I ended up just going bra-free overnight and letting the milk leak onto one of those...

Preparing for the pitcher method as a FTM

@sarnmere For starters, the pitcher method probably does seem unnecessary to people that don’t EFF. When your baby only has formula, it’s a lot more convenient AND it has the added benefit of limiting the amount of times the formula container is opened throughout the day. For point #4, we...
