Did you really wait 6 weeks postpartum to resume exercise?

@felicitys Not at all. I started walking half a mile to and from a local playground with my toddler in the stroller and baby in a carrier at 4 days post C-section. I then started doing breathing exercises and super gentle yoga and mobility around 1 week. That’s pretty much all I do along with...

    Too Much Protein?

@cherrykot I’ve never heard anything against protein when pregnant. I think most people don’t get enough protein, much less so from quality sources. I eat 100-140g daily. I prioritize protein, healthy fats, and carbs from fruits and vegetables. Nutrient density and prioritizing protein, cannot...

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@christianstraightalk You were so bothered 😅 I’m not ignoring key words. The most up to date recommendation is to start working out if you aren’t already. In my past comments I gave healthy responsible suggestions for this. I linked sources that should also give good guidance on how to do this...

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@vapedensity Pregnant women can and should start working out if they aren’t already. 😊 https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/staying-healthy-during-pregnancy/3-myths-about-exercise-and-pregnancy

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@christianstraightalk I specifically said not to start heavy lifting or HIIT. I linked sources for a reason. I am not the authority on this, so you’re looking for my comment to be something it isn’t. Many of these comments are parroting the outdated myth that woman who were not exercising before...

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@xeena You’re the one seeming very concerned with whether you’re right or not. I know I am correct since this has nothing to do with opinion, simply fact. Would you like to present a credible source? Here is another credible source for your satisfaction. ACOG who formerly recommended to...

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@xeena Because I linked a credible source to back up that what you are saying is directly in contradiction to the expert advice. Your recommendation is outdated and no longer true and it’s important to dispel. There are consequences to women not working out because they think it’s...

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@xeena Well sure except for where you said “you’re strongly advised not to start a new fitness regime while pregnant”. That part is plainly inaccurate. Walking is a good start but some weight lifting/strength and likely some physical therapy for the core and pelvic floor would be recommended and...

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@xeena Hi, this is not the recommended advice anymore. Pregnant women should absolutely start working out if they weren’t already. It’s more important than ever. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/staying-healthy-during-pregnancy/3-myths-about-exercise-and-pregnancy

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@nagilooh The updated advice is that absolutely pregnant women should start working out if they aren’t already! It’s outdated and bad advice all these women saying you shouldn’t start doing things you weren’t already doing. I’m glad you commented! We have to speak up to stop the ongoing myths...

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@brandonaaron I completely agree. I was just speaking more to minimums, but I absolutely think lifting/moving more than just body weight is ideal. I love megsquats! I follow her programs, and have kept doing them even while pregnant.

Hey I’m fat and wanna get fit during pregnancy!

@katrina2017 Hi! Just to inform you, this is not actually the recommended advice anymore! Within reason, yes a pregnant woman can and should start working out if she wasn’t pre pregnancy. Obviously don’t jump to extremes! But even body weight strength, gentle prenatal yoga, walking or hiking...
