I’m not sure if I truly want another. Some days I’m content with one and other times I want one

@houstonreborn I love my brother. We're close but his work schedule is far too busy to actually talk or get a lot of time with him. I definitely confide in my friends and spouse a lot more. He's probably number 10 or greater down my list. We also didn't get along in our teen years and that was...

Should I pull toddler out of daycare?

@frank12 6 months is already pretty well into infancy. The critical time is under 2 months for full term babies.

One or two (finances, real estate, health)?

@ckoel Are you tied to NJ? We're from NJ but in the rust belt (Western PA) now and everything is tons easier. My family back in NJ has such a hard time getting the therapy they need. Here in PA it's covered for everyone regardless of income by the state. Between that and better healthcare, we're...

Older parents (39F&and43M) thinking about having a second child

@spiritlead2013 We're younger (33F/35M) and pregnant with our second but all those points apply for us. We're fencesitters for 3 kids though. 1) Our kids will be room sharing. We're going to try to coroom with the second a little longer but we'll see. Our toddler is a good sleeper but gets...

Another mom told me I have a fat a** today

@sakura656 Oh wow. Yeah parent, classroom dynamic is difficult. I can understand why the other parents let it be. My SIL is dealing with it for her kindergartner.

First flight since 2019 w kids: help us assess risk of RSV (+ covid and flu) flying SF to Hawaii w 6 month old? -that cautious fam still masking

@elvisrene10 No worries. Honestly, for me the RSV caseload is immaterial. Flu is in full swing too, FYI. You're on vacation. So you're not in complete control plus the pediatric ERs are full. Say your kid has an allergic reaction, will they be able to get proper care in this situation? Or they...

Nora’s Nursery PUL going after 1.5 years - probably my fault but I’m SO frustrated! How long should a PUL cover last?

@envisiondavid Some of our Thristies Duos Size 1 were on the verge of going but then my son sized up. So I'll probably get the same time frame. I'll be replacing a couple with baby #2. I overbought Size 2 which reduced our washing frequency and we'll have fewer to replace.

First flight since 2019 w kids: help us assess risk of RSV (+ covid and flu) flying SF to Hawaii w 6 month old? -that cautious fam still masking

@elvisrene10 I think the biggest issue is that Hawaii is it is isolated. I checked the children's hospitals out of curiosity when the RSV surge was starting and they have a decent amount. But I would hesitate (RSV or not) with the surge and the isolation. I might be overly cautious but I was...

Another mom told me I have a fat a** today

@sakura656 You did everything right. I can't believe she started complaining to other parents. I would have been floored if I was a third party in that situation. Hopefully, I have enough sense to say I don't tolerate name-calling. But you did great. She doesn't sound stable.

    Reasons for having another child?

@hktm16 We have the bandwidth. We were in a comfortable routine before we got married, then married and pregnant, and now with our toddler. Adding a second doesn't feel daunting and it feels welcomed. I don't think of us as overbearing parents but I don't think OAD is good for us. I personally...

Pls help. Irrationally angry w husband :(

@1stjohn0666 I used care.com but there's a local childcare connections Facebook group, which I would have started with if I had known about it earlier. A lot of people are looking to fill a couple hours here or there. Right now it's filled with students looking for something during winter break.

Pls help. Irrationally angry w husband :(

@1stjohn0666 That's similar to our situation! Our old nanny is a grad student so we're using her as a mother's helper for her last semester and then hopefully a summer nanny with our second on the way. Being in a college/university city has made it very easy to find extra help on a part time...

Dual language immersion for kindergartner (wanted spanish, got french)

@cal_reacher My husband went to Italian immersion school in his home country until he was 11 and immigrated to the US. He has a random conversation with a patient here or there but it's more or less non-existent. We're both conversant and fluent for work purposes from learning Spanish from...

Pls help. Irrationally angry w husband :(

@1stjohn0666 I did. My husband was an attending (hospitalist) when we had our first and I had the nanny come in on Saturdays so I could sleep and wash my hair. Now our son is in daycare and my job is less demanding. But I use my sick time on myself and my husband handles appointments when he...

    Outdoor Playard recs!

@valewv We love the guava but more since we take roadtrips and it saves us a ton of space in the trunk compared to our Graco pack n play. The bend river looked good too but it's still $90. I feel like investing the "luxury" will pay off long term if you need a part or replacement.

    Outdoor Playard recs!

@valewv I have been looking too. Between the California Beach and Veer, I'm leaning towards Veer. Some of the reviews for CA beach say older toddlers easily break it and their customer service is awful so I don't think it's durable. We have the Guava Travel crib and the opening for the...
