The March to 1 Nap: A Practical Guide to Baby Nap Transitions (4m-18m-ish)

@knowledgeisnotignorant Well they happily held him for a little catnap the other day and he only woke up because dad got there to pick him up- blows my mind that he was just asleep outside with other kids running around. Strange things happen at daycare! His mood seems surprisingly good with...

The March to 1 Nap: A Practical Guide to Baby Nap Transitions (4m-18m-ish)

@knowledgeisnotignorant This is al soooo helpful! Thank you. I was expecting an EMW today after him only napping 1.5hr yesterday and then having a 7.25hr 🫠 WW but he actually woke at 6:05 after going to bed at 5:55pm I NEVER go into his room until 6am so I’ll keep doing that if the EMWs come...

What do your babies wear to sleep

@angelgirl4890 My baby sleeps is sleep suits or sleep bags. He’d be in 2.5tog for that temperature- I dress him for the coldest part of the night

Don't be discouraged by all the rosy posts on this sub

@seekinganswersinlife I agree with this- I was so confused by the post. I have the opposite problem in that I read this sub too often and I’m left waiting for my babies sleep to go to absolute hell because the posts are all dire and leave me thinking it’s going to break soon,

9 month old won’t sleep at daycare!

@caminator That schedule is really not appropriate for a 9mo. He’d be overtired for sure and that’s why the nap isn’t long. I’m guessing he’s the younger of the babies if he’s the only one not sleeping? I can’t see many babies that age surviving on that schedule

9 month old won’t sleep at daycare!

@caminator A lot of babies do sleep for 2 hours a day but those babies are usually at least 12months old and only on 2 naps. Trying to make a baby who is too young survive on the same routine isn’t ok. I’d query how old the other babies are who are napping at this time.

7.5 month old waking every 1.5-2hrs

@tbdude65 It’s hard at this age- my son is 6.5months. He looks like he can completely tolerate a WW, will go down without a fight for a nap but wake up 30mins later screaming and I know the WW was too long. I will extend these naps with nursing/contact to protect bedtime though. I find if the...

7.5 month old waking every 1.5-2hrs

@tbdude65 3 hrs and 4 hrs WW seem huge for a 7.5month old who only gets 30mins naps. And I was told by my paediatrician that size can effect WW. My son is big for his age so always has slightly longer WW. Have you tried scaling back those WW? My guess is they are in a bit of an overtired...

The March to 1 Nap: A Practical Guide to Baby Nap Transitions (4m-18m-ish)

@knowledgeisnotignorant Unfortunately for us, our baby doesn’t sleep well when tired or sick.. unless he’s being held of course 🫠 but hopefully the fever is short lived, no other illness symptoms so I think we’ll be ok. Thank you!!

The March to 1 Nap: A Practical Guide to Baby Nap Transitions (4m-18m-ish)

@knowledgeisnotignorant Well he just had another really bad night. Went down ok but woke 3 hours later and was trying to put himself back to sleep for 2hours.. not upset, just lots of flapping about and talking to himself. He eventually got upset so my partner went in and he was super hot...

The March to 1 Nap: A Practical Guide to Baby Nap Transitions (4m-18m-ish)

@knowledgeisnotignorant I thought separation anxiety. And reallllyyyy bad sleep debt. My partner wants to leave him to CIO but I’m of the opinion that he needs all the help he can get to dig himself out of this sleep debt and if we need to retrain when he’s caught up then so be it. He had an 8...

The March to 1 Nap: A Practical Guide to Baby Nap Transitions (4m-18m-ish)

@knowledgeisnotignorant This is what my gut is telling me.. it’s also telling me he’s not ready for 1 nap.. but we just keep going back and forth (its been months now) and this is the mess we’re in and I can’t quite claw my way out of it. I’ve spoken to a sleep consultant (I don’t know why I...

The March to 1 Nap: A Practical Guide to Baby Nap Transitions (4m-18m-ish)

@knowledgeisnotignorant So last night for instance- he screamed for 1hr 25mins before falling asleep but if we had assisted then he would have fallen asleep much quicker.. and he woke this morning at 1hr before DWT.. my guess is because he’s OT from his last WW being stretched from taking so...

The March to 1 Nap: A Practical Guide to Baby Nap Transitions (4m-18m-ish)

@knowledgeisnotignorant Hi omega! I have a very general sleep training question- it might be a dumb one. My baby has always pretty religiously fallen asleep independently since 5/6months. The 2-1 transition has kicked our butt a bit and we’ve had some issues settling at bedtime on the odd night...

The March to 1 Nap: A Practical Guide to Baby Nap Transitions (4m-18m-ish)

@knowledgeisnotignorant Hi omega! Unsure if you’ve come across this or have any insights-this past month has been ROUGH! My good sleep is all over the shop- I think we’re still in sleep debt territory as discussed above. But we have a new issue- we put bubs in bed and he immediately starts...
