Pediatrician says I’m nursing my 4 week old too often - not sure what to do

@y0ung1996 Yes. I see the 2-3 hour thing as a max limit. Like if your baby hasn’t eaten in 2 or 3 hours, try to feed them even if they don’t seem hungry. It makes me so beyond angry that a pediatrician would say that a baby doesn’t need to comfort nurse. They do. They absolutely do.

What did your kids have for lunch this week

@joegibson 2 1/2 year old Today he ate a banana and some cashews. Eaten in the car right before he fell asleep. We often end up eating lunch in the car. I promise breakfasts and dinners are at the table and cohesive. On days we do plan lunch and eat at home: Peanut butter jelly on a...

In desperate need of a break but husband won’t let my mom help me

@sam77 It’s not too late. You can change things. It feels impossible, I know. You can do it though. You are capable of doing the hardest things. You can do anything and be anything.

In desperate need of a break but husband won’t let my mom help me

@sam77 Dude, I’m the mom and I don’t even log diapers and feeds. Most people don’t log that stuff after being released from the hospital or maybe the first week or two. Expecting grandma to log stuff sounds insane.

Do we stay, safe, or move and risk everything?

@1veggrl I moved from the Midwest to the south 2 years ago. Not voluntarily. I grew up in the pnw. I seriously underestimated how religious people could be. It’s like a straight up cult down here. I want to move back to the Midwest. Silver lining tho, grocery shopping on Sunday mornings is...

    Keeping house tidy

@wh2 I hope it helps!! Pregnancy is so hard. Get as much rest as you can. I know that’s not much with kids around. You’ll have time to tidy when they’re older. During pregnancy I narrowed down cleaning to a couple things that I felt were non negotiable. For me that was dishes, laundry...

    Keeping house tidy

@wh2 That was the hardest part of pregnancy for me. I had an incredibly difficult pregnancy but it all would have been so much easier to cope with if I could have at least had enough caffeine. My afternoon pick me ups for pregnancy were usually smoothies, tea, or a candy bar.

    Keeping house tidy

@hurdygurdyman I abuse caffeine to an unhealthy degree. My house isn’t totally spotless, but it’s passable. I wouldn’t be embarrassed if someone stopped by unexpectedly. I have a 1 month old and a 3 year old. But it’s not a healthy coping strategy at all. My doctor tells me to cut back on the...
