Can anyone actually get baby in backpack position themselves??

@guinin How do I scoot the baby around the side if her head goes past my shoulder? I tried loosening the waistband so it’s more around my hips but I still can’t get her head under my arm. Do you turn the baby sideways? Or around the arm instead of under?

Can anyone actually get baby in backpack position themselves??

@straykat There’s no way I could fit my baby under my arm. I’m just so confused by the anatomy of this maneuver

Did you really wait 6 weeks postpartum to resume exercise?

@felicitys It depends on what you mean by exercise. I started taking walks a few days postpartum and did whatever activities felt good and didn’t cause bleeding. It took about 6-8 weeks for me to figure out where pregnancy did the most damage. I’m in physical therapy and can only really do...

Can anyone actually get baby in backpack position themselves??

I have the Tula explore carrier and have been using it a lot ever since my baby was about 5.5 months and could sit upright and I could use the backpack position. However I cannot for the life of me figure out how to put her in by myself. I’ve looked at the manual and watched the video, but I...

    EnJoY yOuR sLeEp NoW

@vanerahelson My doula said “get as much sleep as you can” now, which feels more honest. 32 weeks and I get up to pee 4-5x a night on a good night.

    What’s your favorite formula?

@conner74 We use Bobbie organic formula. My doula recommended it when breastfeeding didn’t work, and our baby liked it and did well on it so we signed up for the monthly subscription.

    Artificial sweeteners?

@hisbody Stevia and monk fruit are extracts from plants, but they’re usually mixed with sugar alcohols to taste more like sugar. I avoided them during pregnancy and honestly I don’t ever eat artificial sweeteners except in the occasional diet soda.

T.V. in living room with newborn, is this bad?

@zman0101 We stopped watching the tv around our baby when we noticed she was really interested in the tv—maybe 10-12 weeks? She was fighting sleep because she wanted to watch tv with us!

Your experiences formula feeding in public

@eilightened There’s no way to know just from looking if a bottle is full or formula or breast milk. Sometimes people ask if I’m nursing. Sometimes I’ll say no, other times I’ll say it’s not their business.

Method that doesn’t involve letting a baby cry?

@joryanne Waking every two hours means that your baby can’t connect his sleep cycles and you’ve created a need to wake up and be fed back to sleep. My baby is 7 months old and also huge. At 6 months she didn’t need to eat more than once at night, and now she doesn’t at all. Your baby will cry...

How long to hang onto pre pregnancy clothes?

@nomoresmiles I’m seven months postpartum and fit into some of my pre pregnancy favorites again. I’m still like…1.5 sizes bigger than I was before in tops/dresses/skirts. My hips/lower belly and ribcage/bust are larger and just generally very different from pre pregnancy so I’m not sure if a lot...

Fit ladies: what are you snacking on?

@felicitys I have been having issues with low blood sugar in late pregnancy, so I try to have snacks that have some carbs/sugar but also protein and some fat. Medjool dates stuffed with nuts or almond butter, chocolate covered almonds, yogurt with fruit, apple with cheese, apple with nut butter...

    Paced bottle feeding?

@clarinetscore We did paced feeding when our baby was really young because she’d sometimes drink too fast and spit up. She swallowed some air but I think overall it encouraged her to take breaks as needed. She stopped needing the paced feeding around 3 months maybe? But we still use low flow...

favorite soaps that don’t dry out skin?!

@guidance I like bathing culture’s body wash. I generally don’t use bar soap, but anything with tallow, goat milk, or almond oil will be more moisturizing.

How to smell good in a nontoxic way?

@superpeople I use corpus brand deodorant. I use the more woodsy santalum scent, but it smells pretty luxe and works well for a natural deodorant so I bet the more floral scents are good too! I also use bathing culture brand body wash and shampoo/conditioner, which I think smell great.
