    i don’t wanna pump anymore

@brandon_d Man, fuck pumping. I had all these lofty dreams about being a milk donor before delivering my baby and now that he’s 3 months old I’ve pumped a total of less than 10 oz because it’s boring and horrible. It hasn’t impacted my milk supply, baby boy was born in the 40th percentile...

@godsson1988 Yeah hats and rash guards are where it’s at for sure.

Tired of “words I can’t pronounce”

@godsson1988 I don’t think theres any regulation on reporting the size of the oxide particulates in sunscreen so there’s no way to know unless they voluntarily publish it unfortunately. The nanoscale size might not be a huge deal - even at that small size it’s still pretty hard to penetrate the...

Tired of “words I can’t pronounce”

@ozark63 affordable: baby bum mineral 50. Bonus benefit is they avoid nanoscale Titania/zirconia. ~$5/oz Cosmetically elegant/no white cast: ulta MD uv elements or uv restore. ~$20+/oz

Tired of “words I can’t pronounce”

@plains Yeah, oxybenzene prevents uv damage in plastic so it’s used in a lot of food storage which is then absorbed by the food, among other introduction pathways. We’re going to have huge retrospective studies in the next few decades. Definitely recommend glass storage at home at least :(

Tired of “words I can’t pronounce”

@godsson1988 Did some research on sunscreen during my materials engineering PhD. Personal opinion for me is only oxides before puberty (zirconia and titania), avoiding octinoxate and oxybenzone until after puberty. And never spray sunscreens due to inhalation. That’s probably erring very far on...

Who should call who to congratulate?

@chocolatesquare Did she want you to hand write them??? NO. I do handwritten thank you cards and folks seem surprised by them these days.

Who should call who to congratulate?

@jerib My MIL also wanted me to call everybody for big announcements (engagement, wedding, pregnancy) and I've turned her down every time. I think it's generational. We just send out 3 emails for every announcement: 1 CC email to my family, 1 CC email to spouse's family, and 1 BCC email to...

My 5 1/2 Week Old Won’t Sleep Unless We Hold Him

@frjonah yeah I never did wraps because they look annoying AF. apron-style carriers are belted like an apron and then you slip the baby in. I did a ton of research on carriers for both baby comfort as well as preventing hip dysplasia in the baby and feel really confident I made the right...

My 5 1/2 Week Old Won’t Sleep Unless We Hold Him

@testallthings My husband is 6'3 and uses both carriers we bought. When you baby wear, the baby should be high enough that you are able to kiss the top of their head without straining. He belts the carrier right below his pec muscles in order to ensure proper height.

My 5 1/2 Week Old Won’t Sleep Unless We Hold Him

@testallthings This might not be an acceptable solution for you but have you tried baby wearing? I have a soft apron-style carrier that my baby conks out hard in. I get 2 hands to do whatever I want.

He’s SUCH a Good Dad: A Moms V. Dads Expectations Rant

@melista I die on the inside whenever a dad parenting hits the front page of Reddit. The standards are so low. They’re never going above and beyond - they’re just… parenting. And everybody jumps on their dick about it.
