How do I break feeding to sleep association?

@allfree15 We are 18 months in, and still feed to sleep about 50% of the time. Allow yourself to keep using this super power because during the regressions and teething it really is a super power. As they grow, and start to wean.. they will have better sleep skills and a more diversified sleep...

Concerns about extreme 'cry it out' for a 10 week old

@gladaonkth Yup. This is co-signed abuse. Standard protocol for most gen-x and millennial babies. Aka - the trauma generation. It is super a hot topic because parents that do it, cant face the favt that they are permanantly damaging their child’s nervous system, and baseline nuero response...

    Confused about sleep and formula

@nader1 There is a great book called “the science of mother infant sleep” It largely debunks the largely American propaganda around sids and cosleeping. In either bed sharing or room sharing scenarios around formula vs breast fed. They go deep into the actually minutia of the data and separate...

Concerns about extreme 'cry it out' for a 10 week old

@gladaonkth Im pretty sure all sleep training/ cry it out methods are now warned and advised against by some national medical boards, Australia being one off the top of my head.

My baby won’t sleep and I’m at the end of my rope

@pz128 You need someone to come help in the mornings so you can sleep. And have your husband take baby in the early evenings so you can go to sleep first. He can wake you to put baby down. And then you can do the night shift. And then sleep the morning. He can wear baby or entertain baby in...

Nurse suggested diluting formula as measure against constipation in 7-week old - is this as bad of an idea as I think?

@holy_venom95 A few things. The water restriction is one of those blanket rules that are more complex. So instead of trying to educate, they issue a No. It is easy to over hydrate and can be dangerous to give a newborn water. Plus their little kidneys are working so hard just learning to...

I was not expecting taking care of a newborn to be so hard

@atlanta Personally, i loved the newborn phase. It was beautiful. I took care of my babe and she was an easy baby. My husband took the mornings so i could sleep and shower. It was really nice. Month 4-20 … however… i lost my freaking mind. The crying, the obstinance, the sleep regressions, my...

Cosleeping vs bed sharing for 4 month old

@soldieroflogos SIDS is directly related to parents being intoxicated while co-sleeping, exhausted parents falling asleep with babe on unsafe surfaces like couches, and having baby surrounded by pillows blankets etc. (predominantly). practicing the safe sleep seven, has been spoken about over...

Baby is barely taking bottles but eats 3 full meals a day

@max2800 Maybe let em keep weaning off, and switch to milk in a few months. Also, my babe goes back and forth on accepting formula or not

We can’t bed share because my baby is formula fed? Explain

@rlp21858 I never heard about breast feeding creating lighter sleep. But i have heard that the mother Infant Dyad is more synchronized when breast feeding. So the hormones get in a rhythm with the feeding schedule, so her wake up times are synced with the babies wake/feed cycles

We can’t bed share because my baby is formula fed? Explain

@chenml60 I breast fed, and cosleep. BUT i used a sleeper thing we call the POD, until baby was able to roll and sit up on her own. It put her on a separate sleep surface that was like elevated. This kept our blankets away, and removed to possibility of her rolling under me. Her shoulders were...

Cuddle curl but not feeding side lying?

@tom34 I had to sit up to feed for a while at first. I would sit myself all the way up, and clip on the my breast friend. Change diaper. Nurse. And then hold her upright, and gently burp. Remove the breast friend, and gently lay her down. Typing this i dont know how all that worked without...

Those who had a C-section, what were you able to do for baby while recovering from surgery?

@blessedbythebest88 I have had zero nipple issues. Those silverettes were such a life saver. They would stop the redness and soothe the rawness during heavy bouts of cluster feeding. Honestly i wore snowboarding sock most of the time. I had some trouble with a lot of edema in my feet post opp.

Those who had a C-section, what were you able to do for baby while recovering from surgery?

@offenbarung Yeah this was me too. Around week 4 i could walk while carrying her, but couldnt bend and pick up, or put down, or stairs. I did do a nice baby massage self care time standing at the changing table with babe. By week 6 i was going up and down the stairs and taking short walks. I...

Those who had a C-section, what were you able to do for baby while recovering from surgery?

@offenbarung Yes! Belly band, and there is this high waisted underwear with a silicone patch at the incision spot that i wore after getting out of diapers. I had a long labor with a 99th percentile baby. Im 5’, 117 prebaby weight. It was an emergency C so my recovery was a bit more intense. I...
