Job Decision: keep the slightly toxic job that I know inside and out or switch to a brand new more creative job- with two toddlers - Help

@hilbrand I’d switch. It’s accelerating your timeline by 5 years - but do you really want more of what you’re dealing with now for another 5 years? That’s a long time. You have poor leadership at your current job, moral is low and rockstars are leaving. Jump ship, put the time in for the new...

Took a job 6 months ago that is hybrid. (Advertised 2 days a week) and they just announced they are going back to fully in office

@ilkhanapit Ah yes - the good ole bait n switch to get people to accept the job. This is why I don’t trust hybrid. Lots of companies are using it to slowly ramp back up to full time in office.

Who here has a mediocre relationship with their sibling(s)?

@ernesjohnson Brother who is 15 months younger than me… haven’t talked in 10 years since our mother died. That’s a lot of life to miss. My younger sister is perhaps the closest with me - but we are still very different people. Sometimes I wonder if we would even hang out or talk if we weren’t...

How did your second child change your family dynamics? Trying to decide…

@discombobulated1 It’s a valid concern. I don’t think anyone should have more kids if they’re not ok with the risk. Don’t see what’s wrong with what I stated.

How did your second child change your family dynamics? Trying to decide…

@discombobulated1 I’m not saying age is bad. Or the only factor. Nor am I dogging on older parents. My friend had a special needs child as her 3rd and says had she known, she might not have gone for a 3rd. That’s all. In a world where everyone is hoping to make the right decisions and torn...

How did your second child change your family dynamics? Trying to decide…

@rainysunflower I’m not saying you’re not aware. I’m just commenting that if it would be a factor in you saying no/yes to another, it’s something to seriously consider. (Since this is shouldIhaveanother) It’s one of my concerns at 35. If it’s not something that’s a concern for you, then that’s...

How did your second child change your family dynamics? Trying to decide…

@rainysunflower Would you be ok with a second if they had health problems, etc? The older mom is, the higher the risk for congenital problems. A lot of people don’t plan on having a child that’s high or special needs. But it happens. Just food for thought.

Took a job 6 months ago that is hybrid. (Advertised 2 days a week) and they just announced they are going back to fully in office

@preclem You know they’re going to a full 5 days. Just a matter of time. So you got bait n switched too.

    Eating less at night

@jasssattar Yeah my baby did the exact same thing and it always varied at night but was less than what she ate during the day. It’s frustrating to waste formula unfortunately.

Transition from Full-time to Part-time Denied?!

    @randall1967 Unfortunately this is true

    Eating less at night

@jasssattar I don’t have any advice on trying to drop it, but it could be sign your baby will start sleeping longer stretches and not waking up for a feed. But then the 4 month regression starts and baby is back to eating at night and multiple wake ups lol This is what has happened with my...

Transition from Full-time to Part-time Denied?!

@randall1967 Your manager messed up and should’ve gotten this cleared before she told you that you could do that. It’s very common for companies to deny PT if they want FT employees and have the budget for that.

Should I switch my 5 year olds pre k from play based to structured?

@caa55 Man just switch him! Sounds like it would be beneficial in this case.

How often do you have date night with your partner?

@jcano Never date nights. Since we both wfh, we do day dates. We don’t have any trusted family nearby or babysitters.

Should I switch my 5 year olds pre k from play based to structured?

@caa55 We chose not to, but we were considering k4 vs a play based daycare with a curriculum. The k4 preschool had ONE 20 min “recess” and they sit a ton. It’s still teacher led but it’s school. Our current awesome daycare will have TWO 45 min outdoor play times, plus everything is play based...

One and done because my partner will never carry the same mental and physical load when it comes to taking care of this child

@kerithravine410 Does he work? I couldn’t tell from your post if you’re the sole earner, childcare, maid, AND cook. You definitely have a partner problem. Try the fair play book and game. Go to counseling. If nothing changes - leave. life if short.

    Gun violence

@j90 If my child dies, I’m not going to be the same person afterwards. I might not even want to exist. I’ve seen what happens to families who lose a child, and the parents still have to keep on going for the other kiddos. It’s so sad. They’re not the same anymore and the remaining kiddos have...

Long term deployment w/o family: would you do it?

@jwesley Would not do this, personally.

What are your "do it all" life hacks?

@holyspiritleads2truth Not trying to do it all while I’ve got a toddler lol That’s the secret. Im also am not someone that is militant about cleaning and keeping everything spotless (my bff is and she has 3 kids and stays up until midnight to clean everything every night. That’s just her preference)
