    NB vs 0-3 clothing size

@niederwaldflash I was told my newborn would be like 7-8 pounds, had all these NB onesies, then bam. Three weeks early at 5 pounds and 15 oz. By the time we got some preemie clothes for him (about a week or two after getting out of the hospital) he started being able to fit in the NB clothes. (I...

Doctor said my 6mo needs PT

Alright so I think I worded myself incorrectly a bit. At his 6 mo checkup (which was the 24th of June) the nurse practitioner told me that if he's not sitting up by 7 months (July 24th) he would need physical therapy

Doctor said my 6mo needs PT

@brewster1118 She said nothing else, no diagnoses like that, the only problems he has are like mild gastrointestinal issues, which he takes baby pepcid for. He doesn't have a flat head, lots of tummy time, rolling around, all that good stuff. In fact he tries to sit up a lot, he just can't sit...

Doctor said my 6mo needs PT

Not saying that I DON'T want my son to go to PT or that I'm trying to keep him from it, I just wanted to see if I wasn't the only one who thought it seemed a tad early to be concerned. I have NOTHING against physical therapy and EVERYTHING against the way that the appointment went with the NP...

Doctor said my 6mo needs PT

@theoden I'm not embarrassed to get my son PT nor get him evaluated 😂 I don't understand why you would think that, I have no problem getting him PT if he needs it, and I understand he can only benefit from it. But it felt concerning to hear without any explanation that my baby boy MIGHT need...

Doctor said my 6mo needs PT

@risensoul It's just so soon to recommend it imo. If he was 8 mo I'd understand but it was a bit concerning to hear. I felt like it meant he was delayed or there might be something wrong, and my mind instantly turns to guilt and self blame.

Doctor said my 6mo needs PT

@eb231 I'm definitely gonna talk to her, it feels wrong to ask to switch to only the pediatrician before even asking more about her reasoning now that I have more information. She's a very nice lady, but like you said I think it's a bit early to recommend physical therapy. I mean it's also...

Doctor said my 6mo needs PT

So she's technically a nurse practitioner but she told me that if my 6mo isn't sitting up on his own by 7 months he needs physical therapy. Isn't this a bit extreme? All the research I've found said they can sit up unassisted anywhere from 6-8 months. I'm considering switching, I just want to...
