How/are you changing what your <5 y.o. does in light of Omicron and the Pfizer vaccine trial issues?

@intothevoid True, I was very cautious with my baby until about 3 months because young infants are higher risk for respiratory illnesses (including covid). But like the above poster said— RSV and Flu are actually much MORE dangerous at this age so I try to treat Covid the same way I would flu...

How/are you changing what your <5 y.o. does in light of Omicron and the Pfizer vaccine trial issues?

@edwina958 Kids and babies are really low risk for covid. I treat it like other illnesses (flu, RSV)— hand washing, avoid large indoor gatherings, avoid unvaccinated folks. But we’re going to daycare, museums, zoo, seeing friends and relatives who are fully vaccinated and traveling to see...

What do you class as sleeping through the night?

@sass I think “technically” it refers to 8 hours straight of sleep. Practically my kid wasn’t regularly sleeping 7:30pm-7:00am until after she was a year old. But she was sleeping 7:30pm-3:30ish and then 3:30-6:30ish most nights by around 9 months and tbh that was totally fine for me.

Anyone else’s baby fit into smaller age size in clothes?

@colour My daughter’s PreK BFF is 5 weeks apart from her in age and still wears 18-24 months clothes while she’s in 4T! There’s just a big variation in kid’s sizes and it won’t always match up with the age. My daughter is 80th+ percentile in height while her friend is 15th percentile.

Reddit put me off flying with a toddler but y’all were wrong

@johnd We have a lot of family cross country so we’ve done this several times. It’s doable, but can be miserable. For example, I have spend several entire cross country flights holding my daughter in the back of the aircraft bouncing her to avoid her screaming and kicking the person’s seat in...

17 month old starting daycare: more short days or fewer full days?

@lizhoney Yeah it also depends if you’d want to be able to do like longer day trips potentially (like drive to the zoo/beach/aquarium etc). I work FT but have a little flexibility so occasionally I’ll take a random weekday off because I need to work a Saturday or something and it’s nice to be...

17 month old starting daycare: more short days or fewer full days?

@lizhoney Personally I would prefer to have full days at home with the baby rather than just short days if I had the option. With nap schedules it can be difficult to get out if your day is cup up like that.
