Severe anxiety about upcoming bachelorette trip for my best friend and leaving baby

@miyuki256 19 month old checking in.. My best friend’s hen party is one evening fairly local (1.5hours away) to where I live, and I’m not going because we breastfeed to sleep; always have done; I’m not willing to stress myself or my daughter out. I’m 36 so I’ve had my time for now :)

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@ellann2 I wear her if I’m out for the day yeah, but most of the time I’m home for her naps - she sleeps better & longer at home & I have to stand if I’m wearing her which is tiring now for a full nap. She’s getting heavy! I tried to drop her down to one nap recently actually but she’s not...

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@papajp I’m really so sorry if it seemed like I’m not greatful. I absolutely am and just so you know I’m genuinely not being flippant, it took the first 12 weeks for us to get to a good place with breastfeeding. Baby girl was born with severe grade 3 tongue tie which was lasered at 2 weeks; I...

What does your younger toddlers sleep look like?

@abesabre Guys! Im in the same boat, any idea what the reason is? My 16mo normally wakes around 06:30 but this week we’ve had one split night (03:30 wake for half hour) and two really early mornings (04:30/04:50 & no getting her back to sleep). What’s up??

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@sidi Some of my mum friends have babies who they just seem to be able to pat on the bum, fall asleep, transfer to pram 🤯 while I watch in awe! Literal awe! There’s no way on Earth my daughter is falling asleep with anything less than a magnitude 9 rocking on the yoga ball and a nipple in the...

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@anceadcathach 👏👏👏 you gota wonder right! The thing I’ve found interesting is that the most supportive people I know are the ones without kids yet

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@fhf1 Mines been walking since 9.5 months (14mo now) but when we’re out no one would ever know because she loves being in the sling so much that she’s rarely down on the ground 😂🥰🥰

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@fhf1 Thank you so much 🥰 great to hear your differing experiences with each of your babies. The carrier is a great way to contact nap but without being tied down to a specific place! We carrier nap when out and about with a sneaky boob, which my friends without kids always find fascinating 😄...

What does your younger toddlers sleep look like?

@mikegray Thanks so much 🥰 this is a good period for us too; I can at the very least now roll away in the evening and get 40 minutes - 2 hours downstairs to myself, so small small steps in the right direction. I love the snuggles and have a very supportive husband but yeah, it’s been.. a lot

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@question10 Diffusing a bomb is correct 😂 You’re so welcome! I needed to vent and I’m just grateful there are people who are willing to listen and give advice. I’m so glad to know it helped you too. I’m so very very sorry to hear about your second baby, nothing I can say will be of any...

What does your younger toddlers sleep look like?

@mikegray All the comments like yours are so validating and reassuring, my 16mo hasn’t slept longer than 2.5hr stretches and generally only on the boob. Roughly 06:30 wakeup, 11:30 nap for 2 hours, 19:30 bed & waking every 40 mins - 2 hours. I tried putting her to bed later to see if it would...

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@providenciaet YES THIS! What about when they stop napping altogether, how will I ever get anything done then 🤪 you make such a good point and I’d never thought about that, I’m using it next time. Thanks!!

How do you make it through the first year?

@shanaynay Just cosleep from the start of the night, that’s helped me massively. She wakes up to latch but doesn’t actually wake up, and neither do I

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@runge12 It’s funny because I never imagined that this would be my path! Pre baby I was telling my husband he would have to sleep on the baby’s side so he could just pass her to me when she needed feeding and then he could resettle her afterwards 🤪 I was all about having my space. Now I wake up...

Cosleeping moms... when did you ditch the C-sleep position?

@rocknroll15 From when my boobs got soft enough to hang down my armpits so she can latch while I lay on my back 😂 (I think this was around 8 months) Edit: to give hope! She’s 11 mos and I fell asleep on my front this week, it was f*ing delightful 💕

Everyone thinks I’m crazy. Am I?

@katrina2017 Yes!! Carrier naps are brilliant too. I used to do a lot more of them but I just wana lie down too these days 😂 I reserve them for special days out only now, once a month or so. So sweet that dad is able to spend so much time with him too! My husband sweats too much to carry her for...

@shinesobright You’re welcome! I needed the space to vent so thank you for listening! Currently back in our happy place, very much as you describe, arm on my arm & legs on my tummy 🥰 Enjoy your snuggles
