Please share your 3yo morning getting ready routines because holy h*** I’m exhausted

@priya12 Timers. I’m setting a 2 minute timer. In 2 minutes, we will go do your hair, brush your teeth and get dressed. Free access to clothing. She can open her dresser and her closet and tell me what she wants to wear. I only ask if she wants to wear a shirt (in her dresser) or a dress (in...

What time does your toddler who still naps go to sleep?

@geranium My oldest is 3 and still naps from 1-3:30 on weekends and 1-2:30 on weekdays. Bedtime used to be 8, but we were seeing some serious behavioral issues and meltdowns. We shifted bedtime to 7:30. It usually takes her 30+ mins of putzing around in her room after I leave to fall asleep...

My husband didn’t know our son’s full birth date

@keepitsimple144 This is so common. Before the first time we flew with the kids, my brother (frequent traveler) told my husband to not get the kids birthdays wrong. He said the airlines always ask the dads if they’re going to ask at all.

Please share your 3yo morning getting ready routines because holy h*** I’m exhausted

@katrina2017 Idk. My kid prefers to browse thru all her stuff and pick one, but our morning also has enough time allotted for this.

How do you approach the stupidity that is Daylights Savings Time?

@robaya We’re planning to get donuts in the morning and watch Muppet Treasure Island. I simply don’t make plans on time change day. It usually sorts itself out in a day or two.

    I just feel sick

@entropy82 I live in Texas. My primary concern is the state legislature. The next legislative session opens in Jan 2023.

    I just feel sick

@wayofthepromise We definitely want a second, but thank you for thinking of the fence sitters. I’m sure there are a lot of couples now wavering between waiting and fence sitting. We don’t want more than two. It’s a timing question. A benefits question. An age gap question. On the second kid...

    WWYD, kindergarten for July baby?

@jellofishxo I’m a late July kid and started kindergarten at 5. My husband is a late July kid and started kindergarten at 6. We both turned out fine. Our plan with our July kid is for her to start kindergarten at 5. This is largely a financial decision for us.

    I just feel sick

@wayofthepromise A friend and I were pregnant together in 2020. Genetic testing on theirs came back with two different trisomies. They faced the choice of abortion or carrying to stillbirth. Surviving to term was not an option. They chose to terminate in 2nd tri. There was a lot of therapy after...

Changing table necessary for pack and play?

@nontoxic12 We just have a basic pack n play with a bassinet level. We change diapers on the changing pad in the nursery. I have never felt we were lacking for anything. We also don’t use the pack n play except for travel (up to 18 months) and now just have it for when friends come over and...

How do you baby wear during the summer?

@margstone We also have this carrier in linen and it’s been good for us in Texas. We used an Ergo Omni 360 with my first and had to stop baby wearing in April and by the time it was cooler again in November she wanted nothing to do with the carrier.

    Daycare questions- what’s normal?

@clay9000 1) send the bibs. Ask that they use them. We send 6-7 bibs per day with my kiddo. I include a wet/dry bag in her backpack for the dirty ones to come home. 2) this strikes me as odd. She should be getting floor time, tummy time, etc. 3) I’d ask about this. Tell them you noticed she...

Is 9 months long enough to prepare?!

@bort There’s plenty of time to prepare and organize. I find organizing cathartic, so if it were me, I’d get started on organizing next weekend. Go one closet at a time. Donate the things you don’t need. Make a list of any pre-kid changes you want to make to your house. Changes we made during...

Not to be a hater but

@dbog Not to put a further damper on things, but kiddo often has their own deductible and fees, plus if you’ve got a pregnancy that spans two calendar years, that can mean 2 deductibles. I learned this the hard way. I have a January kid. I went back to work at 4 months. That felt about right. I...

X-posted from r/tfab, who already has names picked out?

@mariet9 I don’t think there’s a wrong way to go about it. We have been discussing names for about 4 years and settled on boy names in 2016. We finally picked a girl name a few months ago. We’re big on family names, and my husband’s family is of French origin (hence some of the spellings). For...
