I’m 15w+3 right now and already feel the top half of my B belly is really hard and starting to bump out but my bottom is all flab. Will I get a round belly or will I always have that flab lower half? I’m 5’2 and 240lbs
@aniska 5’2”, pre pregnancy weight of 255 - I was rounding out at the top at 17w and then by like 22 weeks, obvious bump. I started with a b belly and ended up with a round bump. Only when naked can you see a little flab underneath that betrays the “perfectly round” belly. But either way, b bellies are just as lovely!
@levind This is nearly the exact same experience for me! 35 weeks now and only time you could even see the flab/apron is when naked and even still, it’s less noticeable because of the sizable bump lol. I can also attest to starting to round out about 16/17w and having a clear bump around 22w. I’m 5’3 and started at 245, now 270.
@aniska I’m 5’3 and started pregnancy at 270. I’m pregnant with twins so take allll of this with that info in mind.
The top of my belly is hard and definitely bumping out. The bottom half is still flabby. BUT when I’m clothed, I definitely look pregnant! Full panel maternity pants help a lot, I wear maternity underwear too since mine started digging into my belly. I have a B right around my belly button and the maternity pants round it out, and I have an apron too but again, round it out and it looks bumpin. If you don’t have much of an apron you might fully bump out, but my apron is big and unlikely to go away IMO
Here’s me at 12 weeks vs 24 weeks. Again, I’m having twins, so my uterus is bigger- i am currently 26w and measuring like I would at 34w with a singleton. So that 24 weeks is probably more like 32ish?
@aniska we’re super similar size wise! i’m also 5’2 and was 230 pre-pregnancy but due to morning sickness i now weigh about 210 lol. i’m 20 weeks and i’ve always kind of had an apron belly and i’m finally starting to see some more roundness to it. i’ve heard for some FTM’s they don’t really start seeing a sizeable bump til 25-30 weeks, so maybe we just need to be patient
@aniska I’m 5’4” and 240lbs. I started to notice a little bit of a bump at 17ish weeks. I’m now 22 weeks and it’s starting to round out more and look like a more “traditional” bump but the bottom is still flab. I started at 240lbs and lost a few pounds in the first trimester due to being sick but I’m at 240 again so I don’t know if that has had an impact on things as well.
@aniska I didn’t get a real obvious bump until 28 weeks! At my baby shower at 26 weeks everyone kept commenting about how I didn’t even look pregnant. Some people just take longer to show than others.
@aniska Depends heavily on a few factors. This was my prior pregnancy so I was 5’8” and ~285 at 35 weeks. This pregnancy I am 295 and have a fairly large apron belly both times as well as a retroverted uterus so it took longer to show because I carried more in my back. This time I noticed I’m rounding out more at 20 weeks but not enough that I’m obviously pregnant I still just look fat haha. Last time eventually it pushed my apron outwards so much that it looked more round even on the bottom.
Also will add, I found maternity clothes were FAR more flattering to the shape than trying to squeeze into regular clothes haha. Regular ones I found really highlighted my B shape.
