My LO has been having loose stools since Thursday. Sometimes mucusy and with a tinge of blood. We’ve done a fecalysis with occult blood test which tested positive, but her stool sample tested negative for any parasite or bacteria. My pediatrician is stumped. She’s exclusively breastfed and has been doing fine before so I don’t know if it’s an allergic reaction to something in my diet.
We’re prescribed zinc drops and probiotics but no improvement so far. She has no other symptoms and seems her usual bubbly self.
Idk what to do
my husband is saying we should switch to formula if it’s something on my breastmilk but I don’t think that’s the case. Looking for any insights before our next pedia appointment for a 2nd opinion.
