Can plan b give you a period 6 days after taking it?

My boyfriend and I are always safe. My mother won’t let me be on birth control so we always make sure to use condoms and inspect the condoms when we’re done. 7 days ago we noticed the condom was leaking and there was a tiny tear. I took plan be within 6 hours. On the 5 or 6 day I started to bleed. I thought it was spotting and now it is beginning to mirror my period. As the blood is dark and heavier than what I imagine spotting to be like. I had symptoms of my period the day before the bleeding like sadness, I was more hungry than normal, and I was using the restroom constantly. Is this normal? Could this be my period?

@concernedboardmember yes, it's most likely your period as it was heavy bleeding.

@concernedboardmember plan b throw your cycle off by a lot; i believe it can either delay it or your period may come earlier than expected! you should take a pregnancy test to be 100% sure
