Under stimulated baby: is it concerning???

@momof2napril No way! A calm, quiet environment isn't "under-stimulating". I would say under-stimulation would be something like not providing any toys/books/decor, no outside time, no conversation, basically neglect. Clearly that's not what's happening here. Honestly babies get enraptured...

What are you getting your kids for Christmas?

@robertharris I like shopping at a local toy consignment sale that's held in my town a few weeks before Christmas. My eldest wants a specific Paw Patrol toy, so I've been watching Facebook marketplace to see if I can find it used. Low waste is really important to me, and you can find some really...

    Glass bottles keep cracking

@pokerfaceblonde I’ve never heard of a glass bottle cracking, that sounds very concerning. Maybe toss that batch and get different ones? Our daycare warmed bottles in a bottle warmer that got very hot sometimes and our bottles never cracked (Dr Browns).

The new Titanium Always Pan Pro. Do we think it’s truly coating-free and safe?

@tonycolors Even more reason to be skeptical when there are a bunch of different alloys involved. Better to stick with cast iron or stainless steel where you know exactly what you’re getting.

The new Titanium Always Pan Pro. Do we think it’s truly coating-free and safe?

@tonycolors I said it before, but because titanium does not distribute heat well on its own, I suspect there is something else that has been added to the alloy or changed in some way to make it better to cook on. That “something” is what I’m skeptical of.

Helping toddlers with fear of bees/bugs in a productive way?

@youanna I wouldn't teach her to scare away bugs with a yell; it does nothing to keep them away and will just cause other kids to freak out too. Staying calm and going about your business is the best way to get bees to go away. I think the biggest thing that will help is your own reaction...

The new Titanium Always Pan Pro. Do we think it’s truly coating-free and safe?

@tonycolors I’m not concerned about whether it works or not, I’m skeptical of its safety.

My 1y/o eating/biting anything and everything in sight

@mileback That sounds really normal. I think you just have to come to terms with the fact that she's going to put everything in her mouth right now and don't give her things you wouldn't want her to chew on. Keep doing the activities you're doing! It's totally fine that shes nomming on uncooked...

The new Titanium Always Pan Pro. Do we think it’s truly coating-free and safe?

@bmillerware Yes I know. Still don’t trust it. I know nothing about the safety of titanium, but I do know it is not an even distributor of heat, so I suspect there is something that’s been done to it to make it decent to cook on.

    Glass bottles keep cracking

@green520 That’s so overblown. If you shake/swirl it after hearing and then test the temp with your hand, it’s fine.

The new Titanium Always Pan Pro. Do we think it’s truly coating-free and safe?

@bmillerware “New non-stick technology” thats trademarked and they won’t explain without doing a deep dive? Not a fucking chance. It sounds ok when I read what it is, but I absolutely would not trust this. Stick with non-coated, tried and true materials. Stainless steel or cast iron is the way...

Vegetarian dairy and gluten free lunch ideas?

@missy945 Hummus with pita or veggies, hard boiled eggs, egg salad, trail mix with nuts, plain nuts, peas or sugar snap peas, quinoa with veggies. Cold salads are great for lunches; pasta salad, bean salad, chickpea salad.

    Antibiotics

@euxene A nurse practitioner is different than a regular nurse. The NP you saw is able to prescribe meds and treat an ear infection the same way your Ped would. I see no reason not to follow her instructions.

Does anyone have the Dr. Browns glass bottles with sleeves? Do you struggle to get the sleeve on and off?

@shae I mostly leave the sleeves on, but I have no problem getting them off with hot soapy water or right when they come out of the dish washer.

    Struggling to do “everything” *venting*

@marknjohson You can’t be a stay at home mom AND a working mom AND do all household tasks. It’s just not possible, you aren’t getting the breaks you need, kids won’t be getting the mother they deserve, and the house chaos will make everyone anxious. I don’t see how you could homeschool full...
