Toddler plates & bowls - Plastic? "Bamboo" (aka melamine)? Actual bamboo/wood? Something else? What does your family use?

@tobiahjude99 We went with small stainless steel plates. There are camping dish sets out there if you want some additional pieces too, but we already had cups & bowls.

Pet Peeve On These Parenting Reddits..

@jsphalford11 Because I don't have time to summarize a book, just like I didn't have time to read it all to begin with. I also don't really remember what I did manage to read, I just remember it helping at the time.

Moms! How did you decide if you wanted a vaginal birth or a C-section?

@komdiarect So, I was biased toward wanting a vaginal birth to start with, for various reasons but also because I had already had one before. But what really made the decision for me was the reassurance of my care team that it was likely to be successful and that they were skilled and capable of...

    Working parent rant

@artg Ug. We have complex dietary needs here too and it is so hard. Time consuming. Unfair!!! Solidarity.

Seeking advice from people who “moved home” to be close to family

@gypsysoule This is going to really depend on your family. I stayed close to my family and I wish I didn't. They haven't been very helpful. They might try, but our needs/standards are different from what they live in their day to day lives. It causes a lot of conflict, and in some ways is more...

    1 crib vs 2

@theophilac20 My boys were separated by 2mos. Too active for safety or comfort.

Toddler loves pushing my newly walking baby and I feel lost

@diademjewel Love edit 3! I never expected it but we ended up putting my oldest in the jumparoo for similar reasons. It felt ridiculous but it worked (mostly). It was fascinating to watch her develop self control once we laid the framework for the consequence. It still takes a bit of time, but...

Helping 3.5 year old understand "you" and "me"

@ggirl1986 This is the advice we were given too. I've noticed my 3.5yo has recently started to refer to herself in the third person, so I think she will "get" "I" soon. She often says things like "My name" dance or "My name" kitchen for "I am dancing" or "I am in the kitchen" or sometimes "I...

    Birth at 38 weeks?

@quaheem Induced at 38+1! Pregnancy was good. Got PUPPPs at 35wks which sucked but other than that everything was "normal" as can be for carrying two massive babies in my body. I had one non-stress test that was a bit wonky at 36wks and they offered to induce me then but I declined. I was...

    Sharing a crib

@smaxiner I allowed my babies to share a bassinet while I was awake to watch them but not while I was asleep. When they outgrew their bassinets they went into separate cribs. Now that they are older they could probably share safely again, I just don't think it would be the best for their sleep...

How do I set my wife up in a realistic way for our twins arrival in Jan…

@cinder7 My first was 8lb 5oz. She was born at 39wks, 2 years before my twins. Labour began naturally. My twins were 7lb 4oz & 7lb 10oz. I was induced at 38wks. I'm 5'9" & my husband is 6'4". I think this probably has the most to do with our babies' sizes. I didn't have GD or anything either...

Tips for cleanup after eating that isn’t a dog

@faye58 So splash mats will help with the food mess on the floor. I can scoop mine up and dump it in the garbage and then throw it in the washer. It's annoying but better than the alternatives. I tried using incontinence pads which were great for juice spills but found the food stuck to them...

    Favorite shows?

@aktsumi Super simple songs on YouTube has some shows that are less stimulating than the actual song videos - Carl's carwash, treetop family, the bumblenums, Caitie's classroom, and finny the shark are some.
